Vehicle Detail

1981 CHEVY CAMARO Z28. THIS IS A NICE ORIGINAL SURVIVOR CAR. WITH JUST OVER 83,000 MILES. MECHANICALLY THE CAR HAS BEEN UNTOUCHED AND STILL HAS A LOT OF ORIGINAL GM PARTS. HAS NOT BEEN HACKED UP OVER THE YEARS. STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINALLY 350 MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES VERY NICE, RUNS SMOOTH, NO TICKS AND IDLES LIKE IT SHOULD. BODY CONDITION IS NICE FOR ITS AGE BUT SHOWS SOME RUST IN COMMON AREAS (AS PICTURED) LITTLE ON DOORS, LITTLE BUBBLING ON LOWER FENDERS AND ROCKER AREA, NO MAJOR HOLES, JUST SCALE. NO MAJOR DENTS, ONLY A COUPLE OF CHIPS AND A COUPLE VERY MINOR DOOR DINGS ARE PRESENT. THE HOOD HAS A SCRAPE ON THE RIGHT REAR SIDE. ALL OF THE DECALS ARE STILL PRESENTABLE. APPEARS TO BE SECOND PAINT JOB. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY GARAGE FOR A FEW YEARS AND NEEDS TO BE WASHED AND WAXED. I BELIEVE THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT PROFESSIONALLY PAINTED WITH PPG BASE COAT/CLEAR COAT. THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE CAR IS DECENT FOR ITS AGE, HAS SOME SCALE IN PARTS BUT THE STRUCTURE IS VERY SOLID. THE ONLY ISSUE I SEE IS IT WILL NEED THE PASSENGER FRONT FLOOR PAN REPAIRED DUE TO RUST FROM MOISTURE. I BELIEVE THIS WAS DUE TO MOISTURE FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD. DRIVER SIDE FLOOR AND REAR FLOORS ARE SOLID, TRUNK FLOOR IS SOLID BUT HAS A SMALL HOLE IN AN ODD LOCATION, I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT IS FROM BUT IT WILL BE AN EASY REPAIR. SEE PIC. IN TRUNK AREA PICTURE THERE IS A LOT OF DIRT AROUND TRUCK SEAL NOT RUST. TIRES AND BRAKES ARE GOOD HAS 308 POSI TRACTION REAR END WITH FACTORY SWAY BAR ALL LIGHTS WORK WIPERS WORK THIS CAR MAY STILL HAVE ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY EXHAUST WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH RUSTED AWAY AND WILL NEED REPLACMENT INTERIOR IS AVERAGE, THE SEATS ARE IN NICE CONDITION. IT COULD USE NEW DOOR PANELS. CARPET IS DISCOLORED FROM AGE. NEEDS HEADLINER ALL GAUGES WORK AND DASH PAD IS NICE THE T-TOPS DON'T LEAK OVERALL THE CAR IS VERY SOLID, THE DOORS SHUT LIKE NEW AND ALL STRUCTURE POINTS ARE SOLID IN THE YEARS I HAVE OWNED IT I HAVE BARELY DRIVEN THE CAR, ONLY TO CAR SHOWS OCCASIONALLY. THE CAR IS IN NEED OF A COSMETIC RESTORATION AND A GOOD CLEANING. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL GM FLOOR MATS, ORIGINAL GM/FISHER T-TOP LEATHER COVERS. ORIGINAL SPARE AND JACK. I ALSO HAVE GM REAR WINDOW LOUVERS THAT I HAVE TAKEN OFF. ALSO HAVE SOME SMALL MISC. PARTS. THIS CAR HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL FOR A TRUE COLLECTABLE WITH SOME COSMETICS! PLEASE E-MAIL WITH ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS MY RESERVE IS SET LOW AND PRICED TO SELL!On Mar-16-13 at 17:29:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to answer some common questions Ive had about this Z28. What is the condition of the cowl panel and sub frame? Answer: Cowl is solid no rot or rust under windshield sub frame is nice and solid. Does the motor leak or burn oil? Answer: This is the original LM-1 350 motor and has some oil on it i never steam cleaned the motor to see where exact small oil leak are comming from I would put new valve cover gaskets on it. I have not driven the car enough to tell if it does use any oil I would say if it does its not much. Is the Paint the original color and condition of paint? Answer: Yes this car was painted its orignal color code. Which is code 84 Charcoal. Paint condition is a nice driver to bring to local shows it shines well when washed does have a few chips here and there but I have touch up paint to go with the car. How bad is the passenger floor pan? Answer: The passenger floor pan will need some metal work it does have a hole looks like from mosture it was that way when I bought this car. I dont know why it rusted there the rest of the floor is good and solid. Do lights work and wipers? Answer: Yes I believe Everything works on car again has been in garage for a couple years but when parked everything worked perfect. How is the interior and headliner? Answer: The carpet is faded pretty bad I would replace. Seats are great. Dash pad it Great. Console is good I think it needs a console door hinge. Door Panels are average I would see how they clean up I know new one are not bad in price. Headliner is there but sections have un glued and will need to be reglued. Is this a real Z28? Answer: Yes it a Real Z28 : exterior color code 84 Charcoal, Interior Code 15R rare silver, D80 rear spoiler, F41 sport suspension, LM1 350 motor, N90 aluminum wheels, CC1 T- Top roof panel.
