Vehicle Detail
Up for bid, my 1967 Mustang Convertible Barn Find. Car was owned by older lady that passed away and the family stored it in a barn for 20 years. The nephew took it out to restore it and left it outdoors for 2 years where it picked up some rust in the body. A restorer bought it right before the recession and never got anything done aside from the tear down. I bought it from him. In 2008, I had Stang-A-Holics completely disassemble it, media blast the entire car to bare metal then replace all the bad or rusted the sheet metal. It got a complete new floor pan, firewall, radiator support, inner fender wells, rear fender wells, rockers, etc. They even did the mini-tub extension when they did the rear fender wells. I had the convertible top frame completely restored and even had a spare aluminum main cross bar (whatever its called) made for it. The only panel I did not replace was the rear panel that holds the tail lights. It has a small rust hole that seemed simpler to repair than replace the panel. There is a picture of it. All in all, I have $25K invested and the recession hit me as well so the completed tub and chassis has sat covered in my garage for 5 years and the wife says it needs to go since I obviously haven't done anything with it. I have most all of the original parts for it including the chrome trim and soft top hardware. I do not have the engine (but I do have the top loader 4 speed), seats, shifter, fuel tank or driveshaft. There may be other things missing but I'm not sure. Since I was going to make this a track car with full roll cage (nothing has been done though, it's completely stock), I was going to replace the hood and truck lid so I do not have them. The inside panels of the doors have been cut out for the tube work that was never done. I do have all the glass and trim. I also have the black CA license plates for it. The car has been registered and insured all the years I've had it just to keep the plates. The car also comes with 4 brand new 15x8 American Racing wheels and 4 brand new Goodyear Eagle GS-CS track tires. I'm also including the Ford OEM Boss 302 intake manifold that is in excellent condition (I was going to build a Boss 302 engine). All this car needs is the guy or gal that wants to put it back together their way. All the hard part of doing all the sheet metal is complete and was professionally done by a well recognized Mustang shop. I have a low reserve and hope this car finds a happy home.
