Vehicle Detail

The term Barn/Garage find has been beat to a pulp. However, offered here is a terrific piece of history. An unmolested original Mini Minor that has not moved since 1971. I have been very careful and diligent to get this car running and operating properly. There is no, none, nada, rust anywhere on this car. It is complete as shown. The story behind this car is a lady from Winnetka Illinois owned this from new. She was an antique dealer for an affinity to race motorcycles thus the trailer hitch. The dealer tag is from Paris France, Lucas European French Yellow Headlamps, shifter extension, Airguide electric tach, tinted sunvisor extensions, period correct luggage rack, jack with the original bag, and Heritage Trust Cerificate. I have tuned up the motor, though it still runs a bit rich. It fires up immediately and idles well with no smoke what so ever. New exhaust, fuel pump, master cylinder, slave cylinder, gas tank acid cleaned and sealed, carb rebuilt. I did not rebuild the brakes, even though they do operate, common sense dictates if one is to drive this car the brakes system should be refreshed. I have not washed the car since I purchased it two years ago and my guess is it has not been washed since 1971. It is as I found it. The body is perfectly straight, the Clipper Blue paint original, the front bumper has two dents as shown. The interior is virtually as new though it could stand a thorough cleaning. There are no tears, splits, sags in the seats or the headliner. The original carpet is dirty and would benefit from a steam cleaning. It has no cuts or tears. This is a great find for someone who loves these cars. My thing is early Porsches. Prompting the sale of this sweet piece are my early 911 and 356 coupe that I need to finish. Unfortunately the Ebay system only allows me to post 24 pictures (why do some get to show more?). I have 90 pictures total and happy to shoot pictures or video of any details you may wish to see. You are also welcome to stop by to view between 10-6 Monday through Saturday. You can email me at hhaleblian@yahoo.com or you may call me between 8am-8pm cst 815-482-7067. Terms: $1000 non refundable deposit via paypal within 12 hours of auctions close. Balance via bank wire within 72 hours of auction's close. Car must be removed within two weeks of auctions close and I'm happy to help with loading the Mini.. There is no buy it now and I will not respond to that question.Thank you in advance for not asking. In fairness to all bidders the auction will run it's full term. The Heritage Cerificate states this car was built for export to the US. somehow some way this car went to France. I did find a 1970 dealer invoice for a part from Lisbon. Interesting stuff that I'll leave the new owner to discover. You will not regret the purchase of this time capsule.I am a long time member of the 356 Registry, Early S Registry, PCA, with 100% positive feedback. Bid with confidence. Please look at my other automotive related items. That should be about it. Good Luck!On Mar-04-13 at 13:02:18 PST, seller added the following information: I had a gentleman visit the Mini this morning. He noted a dent about the size of a baseball at the top of the rear lid. The paint is not damaged thus I never noticed. Dentless extraction would be very easy. The paint on the rear lid is checked so it appears the rear lid was repainted. The rest of the car has it's original paint. Also he came up with viable scenerio on the French dealer plate and French headlights. Though the car was a US export per the Heritage Certificate, it could have been shipped to Paris for pick up then shipped to the US after touring Europe. The gentleman viewing the car is very knowledgable on mid 50's and 60's European sports cars. He deemed this vehicle very original and accurately described. On Mar-07-13 at 16:03:29 PST, seller added the following information: I was asked if the original take offs go with the car. Included in the sale is the original fuel pump, coil, master cylinder, and slave cylinder. Also note the rear tail lights are original and unobtanium.
