Vehicle Detail
This car has been family-owned in California since its inception. It has remained a stock GT, complete with original rally-pack and foglamps until about 7years ago. The 4v V8 was completely dismantled and only the engine block & flywheel were saved. After the block was media blasted and dipped in a hot tank, it was fitted with new AFR aluminum heads (ported and polished) and stroked out to 331 cid. The engine was spec'd and built by a professional local engine builder, Villegas Motorsports of Castaic, CA. I insisted on forged rods and pistons with the intent of adding a supercharger at some point in the future. It is using an Edelbrock Performance intake manifold, and the 750HP Edelbrock carburetor. This feeds into long-tube Hooker headers which is funneled through a Flowmaster exhaust system. I'm normally not a huge fan of Flowmaster, but it has the meanest sound of anything I encounter on the street. It was done for budget reasons at first but I ended up loving it so much I kept it on. The ignition is all MSD. Water pump is new along with an aluminum Griffin radiator. The car also features factory front disc brakes. I added a pair of Caltracs to help it stick upon launch, because it really wants to take off. Factory 8" rear end. Wheels are 17" American Racing Torq-Thrust II all around with 225/45R17 tires up front and 255/45R17 in the rear. I had the wheel wells rolled in order for the rear tires to fit. The end result is a gorgeous stance the car has, revealing that this is no ordinary 1966 GT. Upon engine completion, the engine dyno revealed 420 HP to the motor. Recent chassis dyno tests revealed 333 RWHP with 91 octane gas on a very warm day. The final engine tuning and dyno tests were performed by Jim Grubbs Motorsports in Valencia, CA. The interior is in very decent shape for its age. In fact, the driver's seat has had a cover on it since it was new. I've never even taken the cover off. The rest is sort of faded but still looks great. This car also was equipped with air conditioning originally, however there is no compressor present. The original equipment is still located inside the car, however. I hate to see it go but I must make room in the stable for something new. It even still has the original black California license plate. This car has always been in California. Buyer assumes all shipping costs if not a local buyer. I've actually gotten several compliments about how the car looks. It will need to be re-painted, however, because there are scratches on the hood and fender.
