You will be bidding on a 1959 MORRIS MINOR that has been built as a REPLICA of a 1960s era GASSER DRAG RACE CAR. This recently finished project is TOTALLY STREET LEGAL and has CURRENT REGISTRATION and CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE in my name. EVERYTHING is either NEW OR REBUILT with the exception of the Chevy rear end which has approximately 20,000 miles and the Chevy Turbo 350 transmission which has approximately 15,000 miles. ALSO INCLUDED is a CD with over 140 progress pictures, an instruction manual file and an Excel file with every part listed. The Morris is an ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA CAR with the only rust being in the floor pan and the lower edge of the trunk lid because it was left outside sitting open for a few years. A couple of patch panels were welded into the floor and it was treated with rust preventing products. A factory patch panel was welded into the trunk lid. The body was stripped to bare metal, etched primed and sandable primed. All of the English Whitworth Thread bolts and nuts have been replaced with American Standard Thread. The under carriage, engine compartment and interior are near show quality with the exception of the bucket seats which could use reupholstering. The only thing left to do is minor body work (small dings and dents) and paint if you so desire. The graphics are decals that will peal off if you decide to paint. The MORRIS DRIVES STRAIGHT AND TRUE and CRUISES at 65 MPH WITH EASE but do not expect the ride of a Cadillac. It is stiff and somewhat noisy like a race car would be (that adds to the fun). It is sure to win trophies at your local car shows and compliments where ever you go. If you are lucky enough to live near a drag strip you can drive to the track, race the nostalgia gasser class all day and drive home afterwards. I would only recommend this car for an experienced driver. The short wheel base and light weight coupled with the horsepower could be a challenge for the inexperienced. My hobby has always been cars and over the years I have built or restored many. I am retired and started this project three and a half years ago to keep myself busy. Now that the fabrication (my expertise) is complete I am ready to move on to another project. I have well over the starting bid in parts cost alone.
