1971 VW Karmann Ghia California Car Garage KeptOlder restored carRebuilt engine only has about 5k miles, runs and drives very strong.Floor pans replaced and coated with thick undercoat for protection.New items: New rims, tires, starter, steering wheel, alarm, radio, battery, engine dress up kit, good interior. A little background on car:This car was purchased by my brother and I about a year ago from a older gentleman in NJ.This man was a VW collector and took care of his collection, he had bought the car from California and had it shipped over. Full disclosure: For a 41 year old car it has aged very well, the fact that it spent most its time in California and has not seen a East Coast winter has been its saving grace.Tho the car is in good condition it still has a few issues. It has a few small paint bubbles and small surface rust here and there but nothing major (no holes) and nothing that cannot be repaired. Also, recently the car has developed a small problem when in reverse. Need to hold down gear in reverse or will pop out. After some research it seems the shift rod bushings and reverse lockout plate need to be replaced, DIY detailed info can be found on VW forum TheSamba.The rims and tires that come with the car are original VW chrome rims with half moon chrome hubs, some pictures show car on different rims but no longer have those. Included in sale: We have at least $1000 dollars in new parts that are in box and never installed. The parts were to be used to lower the front of car and tuck in front wheels:Narrow Beam ($600)Drop Spindles ($300)Air Spring ($250)Short Shifter ($100)Misc bushings ($100) Theses parts will be included in sale of car, if you decide not to complete work can recover at least $1000 from selling parts.
