GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING! 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible VIN - 0FO3F173537 Original 302 Engine 4 speed Transmission Power Front Disc Brakes Power Steering AM/FM stereo Power Convertible Top Magnum 500 Wheels Luggage Rack This is one of those cars that comes along only once in a while anymore, a very original 2 owner car with a history. This car was born in Dearborn, MI, sold new in North Carolina and purchased in the 80's by the current owner. It has had only one repaint approx. in 92 and the original engine was rebuilt about 3,000 miles ago. The owner upgraded the rims to Magnum 500's but the originals are still with the car and he replaced the original 8 track stereo with a cassette. Other than these items, a new gas tank and maintenance items it is as original as you can find. I crawled around the underside, inside and topside to get a good look at the car. The paint is presentable from 10' away and up close you will see small bubbling in the usual spots (see pics), it has only one spot of rust under the left rear trunk extension (pictured). I didn't see any signs of rust anywhere else on the underside of the car, it is one of the cleanest original convertibles I've seen in a long time. There is a small wrinkle on the left fender apron from an accident early in it's life, it happened before the current owner got it and I couldn't see any other signs on the left front at all. There are some small dings and dents around the body but a very solid car to drive as is or restore. The engine is in perfect condition, it was rebuilt with only 3,000 miles on it but it was done several years ago since it doesn't get driven as often as it used to. The engine was a factory 2 bbl and was upgraded during the rebuild to a 4 bbl. The owner had nearly $5K in work done to the car recently, the brakes were serviced, all the fluids and the gas tank because it had been driven so sparingly. It is in excellent mechanical condition and could be driven home to just about anywhere if desired. The interior is original except for the front seat covers, everything else is showing 42 years of use although it has a nice dash pad. The car was garaged for the last 30 years that can be confirmed. The top has been replaced at one point in my opinion as it doesn't have any tears or shrinkage issues usually seen with a 40+ year old top. The bows are all in good shape but have some surface type rust and could use some new weather-strips, not absolutely needed but if restoring for sure. There is a parade boot in the well, same color as the interior. The glass is in good shape, the side glass all rolls fine but the rollers are worn on the rear regulators. The glass looked to be factory tinted as well. I think I covered everything but probably missed something so ask questions. The reserve is set at the current market value, please don't ask what the reserve is as it's not fair to the other bidders in the auction. There is no interest in any trades, the owner is looking to simplify his life at this point. I welcome inspections, the car is at the owners home in Madera and can be viewed by appointment. The winning bidder will receive clear title and a copy of the original title, all maintenance receipts and paperwork he has will also go with the car. The owner will be out of town from March 7th to the 17th, the winning bidder will be able to get the car on or after the 18th of March. Terms and Conditions Of The Auction The winning bidder agrees to provide a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction, the balance is due within 7 days. The balance is to be paid through a bank transfer. Please don't bid if your funds are not readily available, if you are applying for a loan please give the bank ample time for an inspection. The auction is to purchase a car, the winning bidder is entering a contract to purchase this car and not to look it over after the purchase, please arrange any inspections before auction end. Ask all questions necessary to make a decision before auction end. If we arrange transportation for the vehicle, open or enclosed, the buyer pays for the shipping.
