Vehicle Detail
Well, here it is, time to sell another one that I don't want to sell. haha. This bike is just effing fantastic. This was a bone stock, 1999 Legend TT. These are great bikes. They're sort of like a nerdy chick, that is really super hot under all that nerdiness, and is just waiting to come out of her shell. I bought this bike a few months ago to do it up for myself, which I did, and here's the lowdown..... This bike has new Daytona bend handlebars that have been drilled for the switch housings, and tooled down with a scotch brite wheel to give them the brushed stainless look. The new bar end mirrors were added as well, and they are the nice one piece construction ones, not the cheapo bikemaster ones. The stock rear turn signals also got the scotch brite treatment, and were moved to the front, because of their shorter stalk. They had some light pitting, but I was able to clean most of that up. I also added genuine Triumph fork protectors. The exhaust header came from an 885 Sprint, and is probably the best part of the bike. It hasn't been ceramic coated or anything since it was new, so it looks older, but is just an awesome pipe for this bike. I tooled the reverse megaphone muffler bodies, added an extra baffle, and repacked them with Moose brand glass packing before installing them. This bike sounds great. The carbs have been thouroughly cleaned, and have shimmed needles, 115 mains, and 40 pilots, and the bike starts, runs and rides great. I don't have access to a dyno, but I am confident that this thing is putting out right around 75 RWHP, which is a serious come-up, considering that from the factory it was said to be putting out 68hp at the crank. That's a real nice gain that you can really feel in the seat of your pants when you're talking about a sub-100hp machine. The airbox has been opened up, sports a new K&N filter, and along with the carb work, and exhaust header and mufflers, this thing really hauls. Less than a week ago I added a new chain, and new brake pads, front and rear. I scored a genuine Triumph Thunderbird Sport solo seat from a guy out in CA for a hefty price. Anyone that knows these bikes, knows that finding one of these seats is like finding hens teeth, and if you ARE lucky enough to find one, it's going to cost you. I paid way more money than I ever dreamed of paying for a seat, but I had to have it....and once I got it, I knew that the rear fender needed to go, and this bike had to be straight up HOOLIGAN. I already had the exhaust in place (which I've never seen anyone else put a Sprint header on one of these bikes) so it was just a natural thing to do, to complete the look. I got to bending up a tail light bracket, turn signal brackets, and cut a fender eliminator section out of aluminum. The l.e.d. signals were added to the brackets, and just finish out the line of the frame, instead of just having the leftover frame brackets just hanging off of it, like I normally see on these sans fendered bikes. The tail light is a re-pop cat face, and all the original plug connectors were harvested from the original units, so everything is nice and shrink tubed, and is plug and play. I am going to try and focus on the few imperfections of the old girl for just a second. There is a tiny pin sized hole, on the side of the seat upholstery, just barely noticeable, and only if you're really really looking for imperfections. The left side of the gas tank has a small ding in it. The front fender has a scuff, and the seat cowl also has some minor minor scratches on it. The only other thing with this bike that I could even think to mention, is that the 17" aluminum rims and fork lowers could use some elbow grease and polishing to get them really looking nice and new again. Everything else on the bike is pretty damn legit, and I hope that it shows. I have tried to take nice photographs and a walk around video, so you can really check it out. The Bridgestone tires are in good shape, the brakes and chain are new, with about 300 miles on them, all of which I put on over this past weekend. As I think of other things that have been done to the bike, I will edit the ad, and post them up. This triple is my favorite modern classic, and is the second one of this exact bike that I've owned. It looks the part, sounds ridiculously bad*ss, and will chew up all your buddies Thruxtons and Bonnies, and spit them out. I know because I also have one of those. There is no comparison when it comes right down to performance. The Triple just eats and eats and eats the white lines. And now for the particulars.... Winning bidder will pay a $250 deposit via paypal, and the rest in cash. If you need other arrangements, contact me before bidding. Also, if you don't have any feedback, contact me before bidding, or I'll erase your bids and block you from bidding. There is a whole bunch of spamming and scamming going on, on eBay these days, and I want no part of it. (I HAVE 100% FEEDBACK, and am have P*wer S*ller, and T*p R*ted S*ller status, so you can trust, that the vehicle is exactly as described.) Also, don't bid if you don't have money or intend to pay. Also, if you win the auction, that is the price you will be expected to pay. Don't show up trying to haggle. The price is what your winning bid was. Plain and simple. Sorry, but some people just don't get it, and that's why I have to type all this. This bike is EXACTLY as described and shown. If you win it, and you are from out of town, or overseas, and need to have it shipped, you are responsible for setting it all up. Your shipper can come to my house, and I'll sign the paperwork, etc, but that's it. Also, would like the entire transaction DONE within 10 days. If you'd like to bid on it, but know that you can't take delivery for a couple of weeks, just call me or send a message and we can discuss it. I'm super easy going, but I also don't want to store a vehicle that's not mine anymore, for weeks and weeks. Bike is located at my home, in Maricopa, AZ 85139 PS. A couple of things I just realized that I forgot to mention. The Speedometer on the bike is a genuine replacement by Triumph. The old speedo was working fine (and still works fine) but was starting to develop a little growl noise. It was replaced at 10,071 miles. It will be included in the sale. I should also mention that this motorcycle is licensed, titled, and insured in my name, with a clean and clear box A mileage title. No funny business here. As I think of other things, I will ad them here. Thanks again for looking, and happy bidding folks.
