Vehicle Detail

1955 Buick Special 2 door sedan. Barn find project car. This is an extremely nice and believed to be a two owner car before I got it 5 years ago. I was told 1st owner was a lady school teacher in Virginia. It was said she lived 2 blocked from school, kept the car in a garage and did not drive the car in the rain. Hand written on the door jamb is “37354 filter, oil and greased 3-2-74” taken as 37354 “miles.” The second owner brought it to NC bought with 52xxx miles and kept it 18 years. The odometer shows 58,425 miles. He tells me that is correct, he put +/- 6000 miles on it. It was last inspected and driven in 4/1995. I have not driven it, it has been stored for the last 5 years in my barn.I believe the car to be original and the PO claims it has never been in a wreck. It has a Victoria Blue roof with temple grey lower paint. I believe according to the ID tag the car to have a 188 hp Buick 322 nailhead motor with variable pitched Dynaflow transmission. NO rust other than slight surface as it was barn stored. The doors trunk and hood are excellent and close perfectly. The bumpers, grill, chrome and all stainless trim is all there but was removed by PO to have the car painted before I purchased it, however his health got bad and he was unable to complete the restoration. the body is extremly nice with a slight dent in the lower front passenger fender. The car is not presently running but would not take much to get it going. It turns over, but has not been started in several years, trans goes it gear, brakes are not functioning. The interior of this car is excellent. The dash look like fantastic for 58 years. Original carpet, door panels and seat covers included. All trim, emblems and bumpers are with the car. Bumpers have some surface rust. All glass is there but milky at edges. Stainless is good. You will be had pressed to find a nicer, straight body.
