Vehicle Detail
Thanks for taking a look at this NO Reserve auction. I feel I have set my starting price at a very fair price, and if it sells for that somebody just got a real bargain. This is an extremely low mileage FJ60 that I currently use as my daily driver. I just got back from a 100 mile day trip and it runs flawlessly and tracks straight down the highway. It has the 4 speed transmission and cruises comfortably at 60 mph. If I were to keep and had the money for endless projects I would definitely put the H55f 5 speed transmission in that Toyota should have. For those who don't know it is a OEM Toyota transmission that bolts directly in, gives a lower first gear (why you would need that is beyond me) and a nice overdrive gear. I have been driving this as my everyday driver for the past 1 1/2 years, and it NEVER left me stranded. It is built like a tank. I would continue but am currently working on a VW Vanagon engine conversion....so something has to go. Some of the upgrades I have made.New Old Man Emu 2 1/2 inch suspension. Sits level and rides great now.New starter last month.New water pump same time.New front brakes and lines replacedRelay wiring harness with headlight upgrades to 80-100WFront seal on transfer case recently replacedNew foam from SOR on drivers frontside.New rims, 31.5 inch tires probably have about 5k on themNew slave cylinderNew wires and distributerNew KC daylighters, mounted but need to be wired (haven't gotten around to it)New after market stereoNew side view mirrors (will include old ones too) Probably other stuff I am forgetting. Some of the stuff that needs attention.Windows roll up and down fine, but a couple are a bit stiffRear wiper works intermittentlySmall ding in front windshield (shown in photo)Some evident touch up paint on drivers door (shown in photo)Lower rocker panel on passenger side was removed to clean up some minor rust. I sanded to clean metal, primed and repainted, but have not gotten around to getting new fasteners. Will include it, but I would prob pop off other side and do same because they just trap water and invite rust. Some very small rust around wheel well, but nothing an afternoon with a little dremel tool and some touch up paint wouldnt take care of.AC blows but NOT cold. Have not tried a recharge.Rear side panels replaced with custom wood ones (probably should be in the good stuff, I like the way they look but just want to disclose everything before) Truck was desmogged when I got it, and in NY does not need to pass emissions. Please take that into consideration and check with the laws in your state BEFORE bidding. All in all a great truck, TONS of torque. Never done heavy off roading, so it is very clean for a 1986. Gets lots of comments whereever you go. Any questions please ask before. Shipping to be paid by the winning bidder. I will assist in loading if need be. Truck is on Long Island so local pick up fine. Deposit of $1000 deposit within 24 hours of auctions end. Balance due within 3 days. Please message with your email, and I will email direct what you need a picture of. Thanks. On Feb-26-13 at 08:07:58 PST, seller added the following information: Not sure if I specified, but just wanted to point out there is a small tear in front drivers seat in the typical spot. I have 2 seat covers on front seats that are pretty close match to original. Other than that the upholstry on the seats is in very good condition. Also there is a small cut out smaller than a dime in the rear passenger pillar where a shoulder strap seat belt would mount. When I bought the truck, I wanted to put shoulder strap belts in for my kids, and was told that the 86 would have the treaded backing. I purchased the OEM Toyota shoulder straps, fabricated a threaded backing plate and snaked it up the drivers side rear pillar and mounted. I did not like the way the belt did not snuggly fit on my kids, so I just used the lap belts and did not complete the passenger side. Best route, in hindsight is to get some shoulder belts from an FJ62. Not a big deal, but I want to make sure I am being as thorough in the description as possible. If you would like to discuss anything regarding condition, you can also send me your phone number and I will give you a call.On Feb-28-13 at 15:30:41 PST, seller added the following information: OK cannot add photos, so am going to try to post some links to some short videos that I put up on youtube. Not the highest quality, but hopefully will answer some questions I've received. One includes me starting up truck, and I say the truck is iding at 6500 rpm!!!Obviously I meant 650 rpm. Anyway hope it works and gives you a bit more information to base your bidding on.
