Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is one of the five M3’s that has called my garage home over the years. My first was a 95 E36 that made me fall in love with them entirely. I then spent a year in an E46, followed by an E93 which I bought new in 08 and still shares the stable with this beast of a car. As newer M3’s hit the road with more horsepower and technology I grew to miss the pureness of earlier M3’s and set my sights on rekindling my love for E36’s, and found this little wolf in sheep’s clothing. WARNING: This is not your mother’s E36 M3, but rather, a car that was worshipped, adored, and modified by the previous owner during 9 years, who kept finding money and gizmos to throw at his one true love, this sweet little 96 M3. In the year and three months that I’ve owned her, I’ve put less than 500 miles on her. Yes, less than 500! Why so few? For starters I drive an F150 five days a week and the other two days I tool around in a wheelchair friendly Honda Oddesy taking my handicapped father around town. Furthermore, most of my downtime is spent close to home and I’ve tailored my activities accordingly so I can spend as much time with my dad while I still can. I have two other cars that I wrench on as well and simply don’t need 4 BMW’s, but I love the bragging rights! The proceeds from this auction will go towards the build of a 74 2002 that I picked up a few months ago that is currently undergoing some plastic surgery before she gets a heart transplant. Furthermore, my love for E36’s wasn’t found in a car that quite frankly scares the piss out of me. This is a fire breathing dragon with a roar that makes children cry, wildlife run for cover and puts an evil grin on my face every time I hit the go pedal. This car is more racecar that street car, and I bit off more than I can chew when I bought her simply because she was not the mild-mannered princess that stole my heart all those years ago. Instead, she turned into her mother! Sadly for her, I have a younger but sweeter mistress in the garage as well, and she is a bone stock E36 that rocks my world now. The previous owner poured a fortune into her and below is a list of the mods: It previously had a ported and polished head on the original motor and the previous owner had a lower mileage engine swapped in approximately 16,000 miles ago which remains stock unless mentioned below. Active Autowerk C-38 Stage II Supercharger – Miami, FL Sparco Torino 2 racing seats BMW Gruppe N Racing Cams Headers, Active Track SS Pipe and UUC Corsa Exhaust Front Rotara Big Brake Kit on drilled and slotted discs, SS lines and cross drilled rears. UUC Enforcer Tranny mounts, UUC SS clutch line, UUC EVO3 Short Shifter, BMW M5 Clutch, UUC 7 pound flywheel, Redline Fluids. H&R Race Springs, Koni Adjustable Shocks, UUC Barbarian Sway Bars, PowerFlex FCABS/RTABS, Adjustable Rear Control Arms, BimmerWorld Rear Shock Tower Mounts Active Autowork Intercooler, Shrick Intake Plenum, BMW Motorsports Solid Motor Mounts, UUC Oil Center UUC RSC36 Corsa Cat Back, Active Autowerk Stainless Track Pipe (no cats = not street legal) with catalytic converter simulators that will not throw a code in the OBDII Aluminum Pedal Kit, UUC Clutch Stop, UUC Shifter, UUC Brake Handle, 2 gauge pod cluster on A Pillar with Boost Gauge and AEM Stoichiometric meter (air/fuel ratio), what appears to be an Exhaust Gas Temp gauge and 3 gauges in the center console where the Check Control Display used to be that has Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and Water Temp. Racing Dynamics 1” rear spoiler, Xenon European Glass Headlights (with illegal blue HID headlight conversion = ick), Clear Corners and Side Markers, Smoked Tails, 5% tint in poor shape and needs replacing. OZ Racing Ultralegerra Wheels that are faded and peeling but otherwise in good shape and wrapped in BFGoodrich TD/K’s. Fronts have plenty of tread and rears have only 300 miles on them. Stereo is all custom with Alpine CDA-9886 CD/MP3 head unit with 3 pre amp outs, Phoenix Gold TI-6 7” mid bass, JL 8” Stealth Boxes, XO Elite Titanium Crossover, 5-1/4” Boston Accoustic SX in molded into door panels, Orion XTR Pro 122 Sub, Hifonics Brutus BXI 610, Hifonic Zeuss Z6I 6010, Hifonics ZXI 6410 I know nothing about modern stereos so please don’t ask me any questions about it. It works, it sounds good to my old ears, it looks awesome with the 3 hidden amps and that is about all I can tell you. The last time I installed a stereo was in my Chevy Vega back in 1982 and it was a cassette radio with 2 Jensen 6X9’s and that’s when I lost interest in car audio hahaha. As stated previously, this car is more racecar than anything else and I would recommend that bidders consider buying this car solely for use as a dedicated track car as it’s not street legal with all of the mods. It’s far more complicated than any other car I have ever owned and there have been many. Who should bid? Someone that wants to own and track their own car, a certified BMW Technician, a dyed in the wool gearhead that knows these cars intimately or someone who simply wants to piss off their neighbors revving it up in the driveway as it’s insanely loud. It looks gorgeous from every angle and its lowered stance makes it look fast just sitting in the garage. It is currently registered, insured and drivable in Texas, however, it will not pass inspection until a check engine light is sorted out. This just came on last month while idling in the driveway for reasons unknown to me. Car starts up immediately and runs like a top. It has two other idiot lights on the display that will pass inspection, but are annoying. One is the ABS light that is on because of the big brake kit. The other light is for the passenger airbag as there is no occupancy sensor in the racing seats. There are kits to rectify this available on eBay. The only other thing that is annoying is that the gas charged shocks that hold the hood open need to be swapped out and are cheap from any auto parts store. The interior door panels are custom covered and the plastic door latch surrounds aren’t happy with the thicker material and keep sliding off. The car does have A/C but the previous owner removed the horsepower robbing belt. I’ve never installed one to see if it works. I would suggest anyone interested in bidding make arrangements to inspect the car personally or have a PPI performed on the vehicle at my residence. I will not take the car anywhere for an inspection nor will I allow anyone to drive the car until it has been paid for in full and the funds have cleared the bank. Ride along is okay, but no one gets to push the giggle pedal but me. I’m just selfish like that! I do have a 4 post lift at my house and you are welcome to crawl around and under the car all you want. Please no time wasters, tire kickers, dreamers or wannabees. This is a serious car for a serious buyer. This car is being sold AS IS, with no warranty expressed or implied. It is being sold as a NON-STREET LEGAL vehicle with a clear title, and no known accidents. The winning bidder must submit a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $500 within 72 hours of auction close via cash or paypal. Balance of funds must be received within 7 days of auction close via cash or certified funds. I will not ship the vehicle and arrangements for pick up in person or via transport are the sole responsibility of the successful bidder. I reserve the right to end auction early as I am also advertising the car locally. The car must be removed from my property within 14 days of the end of the auction. Thank you all for reading this listing and happy bidding!
