NO RESERVE!!1972 STUTZ BLACKHAWK!TRUE BARN FIND!1 OF 23 IN THE WORLD!MAYBE 1 OF 1 ORIG BLUE/GOLD COLOR COMBO!455 V8!430 HORSEPOWER!TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION!NEW BATTERY!NEW STARTER! Up for auction is a super rare 1972 Stutz Blackhawk Coupe. These cars were only owned and built for the very wealthy being that this car would cost $200,000 in today's money! These cars were made famous by Celebrity owners such as Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Elvis Presley. I bought this car on a whim and had thoughts of doing a restomod pro touring type one off build but with limited time and other projects I don't see that happening anytime soon. I figured I would put it up for sale thinking a Stutz collector would love to restore it to it's former glory instead of seeing me customize it. I was told the car was Blue and Gold originally and you can see it in various parts of the car where the white paint is chipped. The previous owner had the car painted white and redid the interior in a dark red a long time ago. The car has it's share of rust as shown in the pictures and video below. The car is all original aside from the color and interior change so restoring it wouldn't be too difficult being that everything is there. Mechanically it is a cheap restoration since it's based on a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix so parts are still available at your local parts store. If you are a body paint person or know someone reasonable this wouldn't take much to turn into a great car. The car runs, drives and the brakes work good. The carb could probably stand to be rebuilt along with a full tune up. I would not recommend driving this car until it has completely been gone through first. I just installed a brand new Battery and Starter and it starts right up. The car has it's original drive train and the only thing I see missing is the air cleaner top, easy to find GM lid. The car has maybe a faulty ignition switch or loose wire in column. I hooked up the trunk popper switch but only the passenger side of the trunk releases so I have not been able to check what's in the trunk, could be a bar of gold in there!! I bought the car as seen so can only describe as I see it, as you see it in video and from what little info I got from the owners son. If you're looking for a great investment that you can work on while it goes up in value everyday this is your car. The car is located at my office and I invite any interested parties to pre inspect the vehicle before placing a bid or having it inspected by a third party and if that doesn't work I have put a youtube video up below with pics that were taken today so what you see is what you'll get. I have a good feeling this car is going to be sold to a Stutz loving home and get the correct restoration it deserves either here in the states or overseas. Since listing my Stutz here on Ebay I have been contacted by the Stutz Registry asking for permission to add it to the registry making this the latest Stutz find and car #24 to be located out of 30 or so built in 1972. It is now in the registry and will be updated when new owner takes possession of the vehicle. I have also been told by several sources now that the 1971 and 1972 Stutz's are the rarest and most valuable being worth $60-70,000 when restored correctly so don't miss your once in a lifetime chance to own one at a fraction of the price. Thanks and Happy Bidding!! On Feb-28-13 at 23:07:25 PST, seller added the following information: I would like to update everyone that the Stutz is most likely originally owned by Andrew Wyeth who was a visual artist, primarily a realist painter, working predominantly in a regionalist style. He was one of the best-known U.S. artist of the middle 20th century.
