I consign multiple classic cars and trucks at all four of the Barrett Jackson auto auctions every year. I’m considered one of the top consignors at Barrett Jackson. The power of networking is amazing! Market I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over fifteen years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only at the auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially the classics! I've learned it's not just the United States; it’s the entire world. Barrett Jackson stated, "Foreigners can sometimes represent 25% of the registered bidders at one of our auctions." At the Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale, AZ 2011 they stated, "There was a registered bidder from every state in the USA.” I've also learned that no matter the gender or age, all different people appreciate this hobby. Another example would be the Barrett Jackson auto auctions; not only do millions of people watch it live on the Speed Channel but hundreds of thousands of people attend these auctions. Every year the attendance of visitors at the event and number of viewers on T.V. increase. Over the years I've noticed that the extremely detailed classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Currently the overall market is on the raise once again. Certain classic cars are on the rise and others are on the decline. Typically, the classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people don't own. In other words, there are classic cars that haven't saturated the market. The cars that are at every car show and auction and page on the Internet for sale are the ones that aren't changing in value or are slowly on the decline. Of course, if the car is spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. It's all about supply and demand, not a good or bad economy. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character. “I’m putting my money where my mouth is” I’m just a 36 year old blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was selling my classic cars and trucks part time. Although I had my used car dealers license I didn’t have a facility that was open to the public. Overall things were going just fine. This vehicle is Saleen Serial No. 07 of 530 built. This car is a documented one owner car with only 10,095 original miles. Yes, only 10,095 original miles! I acquired this car from the woman who purchased it brand new at the local Ford Dealership where I live in Rhode Island. The name of the dealership was Newport Ford which is on the original window sticker. The dealership has closed and now there’s a Chrysler dealership at the location. The woman was in her 40’s and treated this car like a baby. It’s been garaged its entire life and is in excellent condition. You could eat off the engine compartment and undercarriage! The pedal has never been put to the floor and the car has never had any problems during the entire time of ownership. It has the original window sticker, owner’s manuals and two sets of keys with transmitters. Also included with the car is a custom car cover and Saleen plate frames. This car is an amazing looking car in person especially with the upgraded Saleen chrome 20” 7-spoke wheels and tires that was $2,569.00 additional. I had to do something to this car to give it the Marc Schiliro/ MS CLASSIC CARS stamp so I decided to change the Saleen shifter and I removed the Saleen decal on the front windshield and Championship wreath on the rear window. I absolutely love everything about Saleen Mustangs but I don’t like the boring shifter in these models. I added a beautiful UPR Products shifter with black Ford Racing shift knob that looks killer. The original shifter is included with the car. This car is ready for any buyer. The new buyer can keep it exactly like it is or start to add accessories to his or her desires.
