Vehicle Detail
The classic Toyota jeep. A true head turner admired by the weekend deer stand and Latte crowd alike! First why am I selling? I am to be moving overseas soon, and it's either store for 3 years or sell to a good home. I decided to test the market - if I get what I am asking, great, if not, I still get to keep a great vehicle. Condition: -Excellent (for a 34 year old vehicle). Features:-Aftermarket A/C and defroster-Locking Center console.-Stereo/cassette deck with jack for MP3 player or portable CD Player (2 rear speakers)-Aftermarket grey carpet/padding-grey rubber mats-4X4 with manual locking front hubs.-Full sized Spare on rear swing away gate-Hankook 215/55-18 Tires have approx 4000 miles on them.-Roof Rack-Bolted fold down steps on right side to access roof rack-4 inch lift from original-rear bench installed with single waist belt instead of original facing fold down chairs. I had a small child and this was a safety choice. History:-Purchased form Alabama via vintageoffroad.com in 2009.-Frame off restoration completed in 2009-10 by vintageoffroad.com vehicles (receipt available). This included deep engine clean, sand blasting of all surfaces to include engine compartment and under carriage; drive train refurbish and rebuild. More details available on request from technicians at vintageoffroad.com.-Original color Sky Blue - $4000 frame off paint job to change to Dune Beige color 2009-During Restoration interior deck sandblasted and covered with spray on bed liner 2010-Brake rebuild with new master cylinder and lines in summer '11.-Power steering rebuilt summer '11-Emergency brake assembly replaced in summer '12-Original engine refurbished (receipts available) summer '12 (changed air intake manifold - original available on request-Dynamat adhesive pad (heat and sound barrier) under carpet of front of passenger tub put down summer '12-Newly rewired summer '12-New Exhaust run summer '12-New power steering pump, seals, and line Jan '13 Problems:-Despite recent rewiring there are two recurring problems. The horn works inconsistently. The headlights used to blow the 25amp fuse sometimes when cruising. There is a now a breaker in the circuit, so that when it does happen at least it resets - still annoying and I will seek a second opinion if I do not sell.-I do not have a key to the rear ambulance door lock.-Gas gauge is off calibration - when the needle is pegged (buried) to the right it is full. When needle is on 'F" there's around 2 gallons left.-One area of mild rust adjacent to spring of passenger R side (photo) I have had her going just over 70 mph on highway. Aside from urban environments, I have only been on carved out, woodland paths - no rock hopping, beach driving, or mudding in the time since I restored her. I drive this car to and from work (8 miles roundtrip) and for recreation the weekends. I have a second vehicle for errands and road trips. More picture available upon request. My mechanic is 'Melvin' at Happy Trails 4X4 at Neptune Beach in Jacksonville FL. I love this car. Serious inquiries only as I do not have to get rid of her.On Feb-14-13 at 11:24:00 PST, seller added the following information: CORRECTION: Engine Description: Inline 6 NOT V6
