Vehicle Detail

1966 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible; This car has been in my family since 1981, always garage kept and used only as a weekend driver. Unfortunately, I had to drive it to work one morning in 2004 and I was involved in a collision with an SUV (damn those freeway on-ramps). Well, it's almost 9 years later and I've come to realize that I'll probably never have the spare time to put it back to where it was. The good news is, I've done all the "hard" work. Aside from a radiator and a windshield, everything this car needs is included. There's a bunch of NOS parts, some good used stuff and what just may be the last un-rusted 66 fender left on this earth that isn't attached to an already restored car. The replacement radiator support is an 8.5 out of 10. It's straight and solid around the frame mounts but does have a small bit of rust below the battery tray. Honestly, if there's a better one out there, it probably isn't for sale. The rest of the car is in good "driver" condition. There are some dings, cracking paint and one rust bubble over the driver's rear wheel well (see pic). The car shows evidence of a previous repaint though I don't believe there was ever any significant rust or damage. Trunk, floors and frame are all solid and have never been repaired. The chrome is good, not show quality. The interior is typical for a 47 year-old car and is far from worn out. Everything worked well before the accident including the radio. I have some hard-to-find extras that will go with the car like a tilt column, console, speedometer with oil pressure and temperature gauges and a pair of '67 power/reclining bucket seats with headrests (rough but complete). The engine is a 325-horse 389 with a 4 barrel (block stamped YF-see pic). I can't honestly say if it's the original engine or not. I can say that it ran trouble free during the time I've had it and it was more than enough to move comfortably to highway speeds. Of course, it now hasn't been run in a while. I hooked up a battery and cranked it a few weeks ago but it didn't start. I'm sure the plugs and points are shot. The gas still smells like gas and it did reach the carb after cranking it for a bit. Fresh fluids and some elbow grease should be all it needs. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. The car is currently stored indoors at my mother's house and I would gladly show it to any serious bidders during evenings or weekends. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction's end. Payment in full will be cash or cashier's check and is due within 7 days. I am not interested in trades. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Thanks for looking! On Feb-14-13 at 06:14:03 PST, seller added the following information: Due to the sort of questions I have been asked about the car, I think I should point something out that maybe isn't obvious. There are large parts, like the hood and bumper, that go with the car but are not attatched to it. The driver's fender and radiator support seen in the pictures are also not bolted on and are just positioned there for photos and a lack of space. These items will need to be handled seperatly from the car when it is transported. If I had the time to attatch them myself, they'd already be attatched. This especially applies to anyone considering third party transportation and should be addressed with the shipper. Also, the option list has somehow disappeared from the listing. Options are as follows: AC, power windows, power top, power antenna, remote mirror and an AM/FM radio. Thank you all for your interest. On Feb-15-13 at 16:05:05 PST, seller added the following information: ATTENTION BIDDERS!!! PLEASE READ!!! After getting numerous inquiries about the trunk floor, I decided the best thing to do would be to take pictures and post them in the ad. The only reason I didn't do this in the first place was because the trunk was holding alot of the spare parts and I was SURE there was nothing to see. Well, I was wrong. There are two rust holes, one in each corner behind the wheel well and three tiny pin holes in the right rear corner. Both holes would appear to be into some sort of pocket in the body as I cant see them from underneath the car. The passenger side is the larger of the two and is about 2-1/2 to 3 inches in diameter. The driver's side hole is about 1 inch in diameter. The pin holes in the right rear corner are so small that I couldn't get a picture of them. The rest of the nasty looking brown stuff is just surface rust. Honestly, nothing too scary but not exactly as I had been representing the car. For some reason, I can't add pictures to the ad so I posted them to Photobucket instead. http://s1272.beta.photobucket.com/user/Corrosive27/media/IMG_20130215_163422_zpsb902858f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/Corrosive27/media/IMG_20130215_163422_zpsb902858f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=1360972614890038413537436086664 I sincerely apologize for misleading everyone and I assure you that I did so completely without intent to defraud. Anyone who has placed a bid and now wishes to cancel has my absolute blessing. Please all take this into consideration going forward. I do not intend to end the auction or cancel bids myself. Thank you all for understanding.
