Vehicle Detail
I started with a low mileage 1982 Pro Link CBX, I finally convinced a ex bike shop owning friend to part with it after seeing it sit in the back of his garage for 8 years, so basically I got it back to my shop and proceeded to go through it, I started by pulling the carbs, taking them apart and cleaning them (fortunately they were drained prior to storage but still needed some attention), I changed the oil and it started right up, unfortunately the oil lines leaked so I replaced them and all is well, this also has one of the nicest aftermarket exhaust I have seen (and heard) on a CBX, it's a stainless Supertrapp system, which besides being super high quality is adjustable through diffusers, I went through the brakes with the front calipers and master being perfect and the rear caliper being fine but the rear master should probably be rebuilt (I may get this done prior to auction end)the other few minor thing are the tach needle is broken off about an inch from the bottom you can still read it and it could be repaired, the seat cover is starting to show signs of getting brittle and will probably need recovering somewhere down the road and one side cover is partially secured with a zip tie, it's got an almost new set of Metzlers and finally I sealed the tank with POR 15 (by far the best product I have ever used), I decided to do a Hot Rod / Rat Rod / Bully Bike paint theme on it which I did in SEM Hot Rod Black (a single stage flat Black) and early CBX (79) decals, I am very happy with the result, the paint is really good (see photos) but not dead nuts perfect as there are a few imperfections (with the single stage paint it has to be perfect as there is no second chance and no fixing by sanding, clear coat etc.). Generally we do more British builds and restorations in my shop but I'm of a certain age that this was the stuff of my youth and have been starting to do more 70's and 80's Japanese, as always shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will do everything I can to help, anyone with less than 10 positive feedbacks must contact me prior to auction end. On Feb-06-13 at 06:23:32 PST, seller added the following information: I am waiting for a new set of levers to get here for the CBX (only the brake the clutch is in house), I will get pictures up once they are installed, it also has new grips (installed after the photos) and a new battery.
