Take Note America . . . Up for auction with no reserve is a stunning 1978 Mercedes Benz 450SL Roadster. This convertible is in very nice shape inside and out. She has been in the dry Arizona desert and her body is extremely clean. The metal on this Mercedes is superb all the way around. This convertible runs and drives great. Many new mechanical items in recent months under her hood and she is very dependable as a daily driver. All her electrical works superbly including the VDO gauges and the miles are accurate and original. Brand new VP1 tires all around with a road hazard warranty. About the only item not currently working on this great classic is her factory air-conditioning which is complete and in tact. Her drivetrain is all original and she handles superbly on the highway with all her top end power. This Benz shifts out excellent and the brakes operate superbly. Her front end is tight and she handles better than just well. Mercedes made these cars to last and this classic has withstood the test of time. She has a lovely silver exterior that has been repainted once in her correct factory color and the black upholstery is all original and in great shape. The body is very straight with just one small ding in her matching factory hardtop and the glass all around is excellent. Her exterior paint does show some wear with a scratch or two and some light clear coat peal but still looks decent. When the sunlight hits her just right she looks like a million bucks. The black matching soft top is in great shape and both tops are included with the sale of the Mercedes. The interior has the deluxe perforated pleather seats that look great. Carpet is nice and the dash only has a few hairline cracks that should not disappoint anyone. She is totally loaded with every imaginable option under the sun. Factory fog lamps up front and all her lights work for night time driving. This Benz has her correct ID tabs throughout the entire body and under her hood front to back with all her original data and production codes still in place. This classic convertible is not perfect but for her age is rather nice. Factory sport alloy wheels with a full size matching spare in her trunk. Original owner’s manuals with books and more. She has a modern removable compact disk player with integrated speakers all done in good taste that sound terrific. A fantastic color combination and a well designed and built roadster. Plenty of horsepower under the hood and a great vintage roadster you can enjoy today while collecting for the future.
