This 1985 Toyota 4runner is truly unique. Hence the name FRANKENRUNNER. Here is a list of what was done on this truck. 1- body was removed and painted and coated with the same spray-on liner, both on the exterior and the interior, used by the U.S. Navy on their submarines. Then the frame was sanded and painted and reinforced.2- ALLPRO OFFROAD bumpers, sliders, crossover steering and suspension, 4' in front and 5' in rear, were installed. 3- Front axle has BOBBY LONG Super axle set, DETROIT LOCKER and INCHWORM 4.29 gears plus both hubs were rebuilt to factory spec. 4- Rear axle has had full rebuild and a TRUE-TRACK 80% locker installed plus the INCHWORM 4.29 gears and both axles have used only ROYAL PURPLE oil and grease. 5- Interior is a mix of three different 4runners that I salvaged and replaced all worn or broken pieces. The front seats were re-finished in custom leather and the rear seat was done in vinyl for water resistance when the top is off, custom power windows were installed in the doors and then all interior panels were replaced and covered in heavy duty vinyl for durability. 6- Custom lower and upper consoles were installed with the upper housing a cb radio, vhf hand-held and light switches for future lights or equipment. 7- New LC ENGINEERING 22re and aluminum radiator were installed and then FRANKENRUNNER was then sent out to LC ENGINEERING for the new engine management computer, wiring harness re-build, stand alone fuel management, headers and their new intake system. 8- The ALLPRO front bumper was reinforced and fitted with a WARN VR 8000 winch and EAGLE offroad lights. 9- I have also included the INCHWORM double transfer case setup that I got but haven't had the time or money to install. This 4runner has proven itself on many extreme trails and I drove it to Tennessee for the Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride with the Toyota Landcruiser Association last year from south Florida, wheeled hard and drove home with no problems at all.
