Vehicle Detail
Are you really ready for this? If you like Buick Riviera Boattails, you will love this. ACTUAL MILEAGE of only 33K, and that is only the beginning. Have a seat and enjoy reading what has been done. This is a 1972 Riviera with bucket seats and floor shifter. Just that alone makes this a rare version as most were bench seats. Other Factory options include the odometer/tripmeter, AC, power drivers seat, windows, trunk release, tilt column. Non-factory options include side markers shaved, handles and locks shaved, mirror mount shaved, trunk lock cylinder/emblem shaved, all name plates shaved. Aftermarket stereo head unit has not been cut and still retains the shaft mount radio style. In the glove box are the connections for ipod, etc. There are a couple of amps in the finished trunk. Complete interior is done in a 2-tone tan color. Check out the stock steering wheel. It doesn't get much more perfect than that piece. Gauge cluster looks great and all the engine turned gauge bezels are in great shape. Billet tilt and turn signal levers. The best part of any Boattail is the body. The body looks like an Auburn or a 60's Corvette with it's V-shaped rear section and glass. The hood mimics the same V-shape. The side of the body is so thin it almost looks sectioned. It is a very wide and low shape. Shaving up the body a bit really amplifies the beautiful lines. The paint on the car is very nice. There are a couple minor chips on the hood. The body is real straight. The burnt orange color has a lot of pearl in it and the sun highlights all the beautiful angles and lines of the Riviera. The front of the Boat is also slightly custom. The orginal grille is a plastic piece that never really looks that crisp. This car has a nice billet custom replacement installed. The front bumper has been cut to highlight the grile and giving it 2 bumperettes instead of one long piece. Kinda like a 70-73 Camaro RS. The lower section of the bumper has been painted to match the body. Looks much better than the enormous double deck chrome bumper that left the factory. The rear has been cleaned up so all you see is the awesome ass on this girl. Never before and never again has there been such a unique and sharply designed tail. Heck, they even put the license plate in the bumper off to one side from the factory. There is a really nice body line that spans from the front, over the roof, and on to the trunk. The pearlescent paint really picks this up and highlights it. Probably pretty obvious by now I love these cars. On to the powerplant. The engine is the original 455. It has been built for speed. Headers, ignition, fuel system (carburetor, electric pump, etc), intake are all speed components. It is running Nitrous. Bottle in the trunk. The engine is already a 400HP engine and once you run the squeeze, you have passed 500 on your way to 600 I would bet. I am sure you have noticed the inboard headlamps by now. They have been removed and a completely fabricated cold air intake system has been plumbed. It is obvious it has been built for speed. Right behind this beast is a TH400 with shift kit. Arguably the toughest and most proven automatic transmssion of all time. If this was not enough, Currie Enterprises (yes google it, they are well known in race and off road) has supplied a custom built 4 link unit with 4.56 gears, posi, and rear disc brakes. The icing on the cake is a custom 3 inch exhaust system from headers to bumper. Had enough? take a breath cause we are not done yet. Brand new Intro wheels (google them) and Continental tires. Intro is a premier made-to-order wheel company. They build wheels for specific client cars, not cookie cutter stuff. This car has 20's up front rollin on 255's and 22"s out back on 285's. The car has been lowered with custom 3 inch down springs. Rides like a dream. I have probably forgot something here, but I think you get the idea. 33K car that has been rebuilt interior, exterior, under the hood, and under the floor. Title is clear and in my name. Don't be scared... On Jan-20-13 at 08:26:31 PST, seller added the following information: Dear gee_rydes, I've been collecting 71-72 boattail Rivs since 1988 (twelve total including the two 71 GS's I currently own) and wanted to send you a note that this is by far THE most tastefully done custom I've seen in my 12 years on ebay. There have been a couple that have passed through that were OK, but you have now set a new standard that all future comers will be judged by. Wish you the best of luck with it, it most certainly is a stunning automobile, made even more so by your exquisite upgrades. Best regards...........Neil (god1118) PS One of my Rivs is Burnished Cinnamon, one of only 83 1971 Rivs painted in that color, and by all appearances looks to be exactly the same as yours. My other Riv is an even rarer color, Stratomist Blue, one of only 45. - god1118
