What we have here is a 1972 BMW R75/5. It has suffered some neglect and some poaching. I wouldn't say it is unrepairable or unrestorable but a full restoration is recomended. Great start for a custom or racer. It kicks over, brakes work, clutch work. It looks mostly origional. It is mostly complete. Missing items include seat, speedo, headlight glass, wiring harness, switches, battery and battery covers, fork booties. I will include a horn and any other miscalanious bits I can find. The gas tank was stripped and repairs were done but it is a bit soft around the filler and would need some help before painting and a liner as there was some rust in the tank. The headlight has a BMW keyswitch that is out of a later bike and needs body work and wiring, Forks look good, wheels look fine, carbs need a rebuild but aren't frozen, trans shifts properly, engine kicks through with little compression so rebuild is suggested. Frame looks straight, All in all it is a basketcase, not running bike but a much sought after, rare and classic vintage bike. Last registered in '92. I checked clear title as there is no option to state "no title" but I will include a bill of sale. Bike is located just south of downtown Los Angeles, any serious buyers are encouraged to veiw bike in person. I can crate for shipping purposes or deliver for $1 per loaded mile. Shipping is the sole responsibility of buyer but I will assist however I can on this end. I will deliver to your preferred shipper if located in the Los Angeles area at no additional charge.
