Vehicle Detail
Up for sale or trade is my 1976 BMW 530i. It's a RARE 4 speed euro model (Grey Market German Import, which is why the VIN number is shorter than most VIN numbers) with 87,000 Original miles on it. The car is mechanically sound and runs strong. It has a current PA inspection until Novemeber of 2013, as well as brakes, rotors, fuel tank, exhaust and other road worthy components. The car is driven daily with no problems or issues. I am the third owner. 1st and 2nd Owner were father and son (Prominent nationally known family owned it, but would rather not say on listing). The only reason I am selling the car is because i need a more practical 3rd car for family purposes and can't justify a 4th one. It runs and drives great and is fun to drive if you are a BMW enthusiest. With a full restoration, the car would be work between $10-15K depending on the level of detail. From my perspective on a full restoration, it would need some floor pan and rocker work, tires, and fresh paint. I would also like to install some new struts to tighten up the suspension, but have been told that they are fine. The interior is in great condition except for stains on the head liner, minor cracks in the dash and a small tear in the pasenger seat (you can't see it in the pictures). Several people have asked me about the engine... I am not a mechanic and can only tell you that its an E12 with a stock M30 engine. I am going to add some pictures. Several people have asked me about the floor pan repairs suggested in my description... The best way I can describe it is that I drive the car every day with out issue, but if I keep the car, I would want to complete the restoration, which would require floor pans and rocker panels. I got an estimate from a local body shop to do a full overlay from front to rear wheel wells, including rockers and undercoating for $1,000.00. The work is expected to take about a week. Thats as technical as I can get and I don't have a lift or jack so cant really take pictures. As I mentioned above, I am really on the fence about selling the car and am not desperate so I am not going to give it away. If you are a serious buyer and appreciate the rareity and value, please do not hesitate to ask questions and / or come see it for yourself before auction ending. Im sure there are a lot of things I left out, so please ask questions. Thank you and Good luck! LOCAL PICKUP Only (NO Shipping), $500.00 Deposit due within 24hours of auction end.
