Up for auction is my 1970 Challenger RT. The car is an RT tribute and was restored from a low mileage straight body rust free California car which is originally from San Bernardino Ca. The car was sandblasted underneath and painted a semi-gloss black which is super clean looking. The 440 Magnum engine was built by Daryl Finch himself (the man who built the General Lee’s in the recent Dukes of Hazzard movies). The engine was built to stock spec’s (375 HP and 490 ft-lb of torque) for originality and has a date code on the engine block of 1969. The carter carb was removed and replaced by a reliable Edelbrock performer 750 cfm carb. Electronic Ignition was installed during my time of ownership along with new wheels and tires, which are: P255/60R15 on 15x7 up front and P275/60R15 on 15x8 in back. The tires are Master Craft Avenger’s mounted on the Mopar Rally wheels. The Torqueflight transmission runs perfect. The rear end is an 8 ¾ unit with a Sure Grip and 3.23 gears in the diff. There are disc brakes in front and the drum brakes in the rear. The Challenger really drives and handles well. The car starts right up every time and has awesome throttle response for cruising to the drive in. The Torsion Bar suspension up front makes for a super smooth ride and the aluminum radiator with the pusher electric fan (and engine driven fan) keep the car running cool in the hottest of weather. The Hemi Orange paint on the car is the best paint I’ve ever seen. (smooth as glass) All the chrome was polished to be super bright. I’ve received so many compliments on how great the car looks and how it has the perfect stance with the wheels and tires. Also included is the 1970 Dodge Service Manual for reference.
