THIS IS HIS PERSONAL CAR, TITLED IN HIS NAME AND DRIVEN EXCLUSIVELY BY HIM! This 1964 IMPALA SS is in GOOD CONDITION meaning it hasn't been hot rodded making this car even more RARE considering most examples have been heavily modified in low riders! Starting with the body: The car has been repainted at one point in its life to a metallic midnight blue. This was changed from its ORIGINAL TWO-TONE WHITE BODY/ AZURE BLUE TOP COLOR COMBINATION THAT IT WAS BORN WITH. THE ORIGINAL COLOR COMBINATION IN ITSELF IS VERY RARE AS MOST IMPALA SS'S WERE THE EXACT OPPOSITE WITH THE BODY USUALLY BEING BLUE AND THE TOP WHITE. ALL THE PANELS ARE STRAIGHT AND LINE UP WELL. The DOORS CLOSE SOLID AS DO THE HOOD AND TRUNK. ALL THE GLASS IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND ALL THE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY AS THEY SHOULD. It retains its ORIGINAL EMBLEMS, GRILL, BUMPERS AND TRIM. The CHROME and BRIGHTWORK are in GOOD CONDITION and shine up well for being ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. As you can see the color has been changed to dark metallic blue done some time ago with various chips, nicks and scratches and peeling clear coat in various areas showing patina which was preferred by Billie. The body seems to be pretty rust free and straight as seen in the pictures. The quarters and rockers also look nice and appear to be rust free with maybe some minor evidence of minor rust as seen in the pictures. The floors appear to be very solid. The trunk is solid but the very bottom trunk pan has been cut out at some point and new sheet metal welded in. This was not done to factory specs but it gets the job done. The rest of the trunk is SUPER SOLID as seen in the pictures. Most of the exterior defects are pointed out in the pictures below. The Original stainless and chrome are in nice shape for their age and being original. There is a small piece missing around the brow of the passenger headlight ring as seen in pictures. The rest of the exterior looks nice for a driver and is all there. We were told from the previous owner that the engine has been rebuilt. I do not believe it to be the original #'s matching engine from the vehicle but that has never been checked or verified. The deck of the block does not have any #'s stamped into it. It has a BRAND NEW BATTERY. Interested parties are welcome to come verify this before the end of the auction if it's a deal breaker. This car has a BRAND NEW STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM installed from the exhaust manifold into glasspack mufflers exiting the rear into chrome tips. It SOUNDS GREAT! The transmission appears to be the ORIGINAL 2-speed powerglide. The rear end appears to be ORIGINAL to the car as well. Mechanically this car runs great with No funny noises! It shifts great and does everything to be a great cruiser! The BRAKES have just been done! The suspension has also been gone through recently along with NEW SHOCKS and AIR SHOCKS in the rear. The previous owners cut the springs so the car sits a little lower than stock but still rides nice! The car rides on ORIGINAL 14x5 wheels with the STOCK SS HUBCAPS on WHITEWALL TIRES. The car retains both it's ORIGINAL BLACK AND YELLOW PLATES THAT ARE IN GREAT SHAPE! Moving to the interior of the car. The interior is ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. The drivers seat has some rips and tears and is covered by white duct tape. There is a small rip on the passengers side bucket seat. Again, this is something that Billie preferred because of the ORIGINALITY. It appears that the carpet has been changed to black. The dash has been padded. The gauge cluster surround has been chromed. The headliner is ORIGINAL TO THE VEHICLE! The ORIGINAL CENTER CONSOLE is all there and LOOKS GOOD! There is an aftermarket CD player installed into the dash. There are a couple aftermarket gauges mounted to the underside of the dash. A late model GM STEERING COLUMN has been installed complete with TILT COLUMN and a WOODGRAIN SPOKE STEERING WHEEL. THE BAND IS GEARING UP FOR A WORLD TOUR. THEY WILL BE GONE FOR SOME TIME AND BILLIE WOULD LIKE TO PASS THIS CAR ON TO ANOTHER OWNER FOR THEIR ENJOYMENT RATHER THAN LET IT SIT AT THE STUDIO IN THE MEANTIME WHILE THEY'RE GONE. Carfax will only go back as far as 1983. 8) I did not cover the license plates because I wanted to show they are original to this car.
