Vehicle Detail

Central Valley Classics Helping people buy their dreams for over 20 years We are proud to offer this special vehicle for auction! GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING! 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster VIN - 194678S401764 NOM 454 Engine 4 speed Transmission Manual Disc Brakes Manual Steering AM/FM Cassette Stereo Hard Top Chrome Rally Wheels Big Block Hood Built Sept, 1967 This is one of several cars from an estate, what you will read in the description about the car is all that is known. I crawled around the underside, inside and topside to get a good look at the car. The car was painted but it was repainted back to the original Lemans Blue, there are some small blemishes in the paint from driving but is very presentable and it shines well as seen in the pictures. I didn't see any areas of previous damage except for a small spot repaired above the driver rear wheel opening lip. The frame and bird cage are very clean from rust, the history of the car isn't known but suspect a west coast car it's whole life. The wheels are chromed rally wheels, it has nearly new Bridgestone tires all around, the hard top is in good shape with no signs of damage. The car was originally a 327/300 hp car, the current engine codes are as follows, T0936CRW & 12?134869, the 3rd digit denoting the plant for the car was only half stamped and it could be a Q or G or O but not sure. From what I can tell from these numbers is this is a 1972 454 built in Tonawanda, it's an LS5 270hp engine from a Chevelle. The engine does seem to run well and I didn't see any visible smoke when starting or running and it didn't appear to leak while it was parked. The transmission did look like it could be original, it is a Muncie for sure. The brakes felt good when I drove it with no pull and it shifted good with no obvious clutch chatter or slippage, The exhaust has headers, no gasket leaks and the exhaust sounded like it was pretty stock behind the headers. The interior code is (414) Black vinyl I think, the seats are in good shape and door panels were good. I suspect it was done in the fairly recent because it looks pretty clean and crisp yet. The center console needs a little attention, just making it neat again as nothing major is wrong. The gauges all worked except for the gas gauge, you can see it retains the original 327/300 tachometer. I did find a few things on the car that need attention and are as follows. The vacuum mechanism for the wipers is not hooked up and unsure if it works like many of these. The gas gauge isn't working. There is no spare tire or cradle present. There is no convertible top at all, no bows present. Tidy up the center console. There is no Buy-It-Now, if you want to bypass the bidding on this auction please make an offer I can submit to the Fiduciary for the estate and it will considered. The reserve was set the low end of the current market value as determined by a professional appraiser for the estate. This was determined using comparable sales from auctions and private sales from all over the country, condition was factored into this as well as options on the car. Please don't ask what the reserve is as it's not fair to the other bidders in the auction. There is no interest in any trades, the car is sold as is. I welcome inspections, the car is in storage a few miles from me and can be viewed by appointment. The winning bidder will receive clear title from the estate, it will take several days for the title to be sent after full funds have been received. A bill of sale will be provided in lieu of title until it is sent to you. I can assist with arranging shipping to your location or make recommendations for shipping, of course it can be picked up in person after estate has received funds. The car must be picked up within 14 days from the close of auction unless alternate arrangements have been agreed to. Please let me know any questions you have. This car is located in Fresno, CA. Terms and Conditions Of The Auction The winning bidder agrees to provide a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction, the balance is due within 7 days. The balance is to be paid through a bank transfer. Please don't bid if your funds are not readily available, if you are applying for a loan please give the bank ample time for an inspection. The auction is to purchase a car, the winning bidder is entering a contract to purchase this car and not to look it over after the purchase, please arrange any inspections before auction end. Ask all questions necessary to make a decision before auction end. If we arrange transportation for the vehicle, open or enclosed, the buyer pays for the shipping. While every effort is made to provide complete and accurate information regarding each vehicle being auctioned, bidders are advised to rely upon their own research.
