Vehicle Detail
First off, I purchased this truck about ten years ago in completely original condition. It had been restored in the early 90's and still in very good condition since it had always been garaged. It shows about 75k on the odometer, not sure if its accurate but the truck is so clean. I have all the original parts that I removed including the original 8ba flathead and 3-speed trans complete w/carb.to starter.Starts and runs excellent, It must have been rebuilt at one time because it runs so well, trans shifts nicely and clutch was great. It just wasnt enough power for me. I installed an 8ba flathead bored and stroked w/ Merc crank to 286ci, Isky 400 cam, block was relieved, full-flow oil system, offy heads, Mallory ignition converted to 12v, Roadrunner engineering blower with dual Strombergs, Reds coated headers, serpentine belt set-up with electric cooling fan, upgraded waterpumps and electric fuel pump, heavy duty clutch, pressure plate, offenhauser adapter plate with a Tremec TKO 5-speed, stainless dual exhaust with Smitthy glass packs. The brakes and front suspension were completely rebuilt last summer, drives straight and stops well. Radiator was re-cored, new battery, and I rewired the entire truck with a new harness(still needs to be trimmed in a few places and wrapped. Theres about 10k on the engine, and only 2k on a brand new tremec and clutch. The rear end is the original, I beleive its a Dana 60 with 456 gears. The underside of this truck is immaculate condition with very little rust. Theres a few bubbles that have been popping up but I keep it clean and spray wd40 on all the areas regularly and it has barely gotten any worse over the past ten years. I drive this truck around regularly, trips to the dump and home depot, etc but Ive also gone on long trips (400+ miles) and had no issues with it at all. on a hot day in traffic it gets a little hot but not out of the ordinary for a flathead. The bed is probably the worst part of the truck its still usable but there is surface rust on the floor and blisters around the seams. The cab is perfect, no rust or rot, cab corners are rust free and original, floors you could eat off, and running boards are very nice original. The corners of the front fenders are just starting to blister and the paint on the rear fenders is lifting although theres no sign of rust. The paints a little dull and wearing thin in a few spots but overall it looks really nice. I own a collision repair shop so If I was worried that it was bad I would have completely gone through it but its just to nice and original to mess with. This truck has a lot of character! and the exhaust sounds amazing. Ill try and post a video of it running when I have time this week. The interior is in good condition but It needs a carpet or mat, the headliner and kick panels are starting to curl and fade but again they are perfectly usable. The tires that are on it are tube-type nylon repros and they are in need of replacement from dry-rot. performance wise its got a lot of power, too much for these tires. I originally had a 650 holley and methanol injection on it and I couldnt keep it going straight but since I use it for a driver I decided to de-tune it a little for drivability. Ive taken quite a few photos so you can get an idea of what its like. If you have questions feel free to email and I will try and answer. Its available for inspection weekdays with an appointment. Thanks for looking! ***Buy It Now*** Included if you "buy it now" is the original engine, transmission, and all original parts removed from the truck. Also included is another 8ba engine thats been rebuilt, bored, relieved, merc crank, isky cam, offy heads, dual 94 carbs, fenton headers, full flow oil system, etc it has approx 10k on it and runs great, this was the first engine I put in the truck before the blower engine. And also another pair of edelbrock polished heads and some other misc flathead parts.
