Offered for sale is a 1967 Mercedes Benz 250 SE Opera Coupe. This is a zero-rust California car that was part of a private collection for the last 20+ years, and part of my collection for the past year. This vehicle is as nice as one could ever hope to find. It went through an extensive refurbishment with genuine Mercedes materials in the early 2000’s, and is remaining in excellent condition. It is as clean inside as it is outside, and performs just like a new car would. The vehicle has received very few tasteful updates, that make up for it’s vintage. The clock has been converted to modern quartz movement, stock looking radio will now play MP3 files from your Ipod though 6-speaker system with concert hall quality, and manage multi-disc CD changer (located in the trunk) via equalizer. Updated shoulder belt system for the driver and passenger. If there ever was a shortfall with the original MB 250SE, it was it’s low gearing, making highway cruising a little unpleasant. This car had received a limited slip differential transplant from a high geared 280SEL V8 car, which significantly improved cruising abilities. The car is now an absolute pleasure to drive, regardless of driving conditions, and will cover long distances with an amazing ease. The conversion is 100% bolt on without any modifications whatsoever, and original rear axle is included with the sale for purists. The engine has been updated with electronic ignition for reliability. Air Conditioning I believe was converted to modern freon, and is ice cold. The vehicle remains completely original otherwise. This is the kind of car dealers would love to have in their showrooms with a price tag of $40k+ . It is therefore a good opportunity to purchase an investment quality Mercedes for the fraction of that price.
