Vehicle Detail
***1976 Honda CB 550 Four*** For sale is this beautiful 1976 550 Four. Fresh new paint, newer tires, no rips or tears in the seat, great chrome on everything but the front rim which shows a little patina for its age. But what do you expect from a 37 year old motorcycle. Everything works as it should with no known issues. This bike was ridden daily until I bought it and had it refurbished to the point you see here. Far from perfect but a really nice bike you can ride or show. Missing the original air box. I do have brand new cone filters to go on the bike that will go to the next owner. Baffles were removed at some point and replaced with some type of inserts but the pipes are all in good shape save for a little scrubbing on the frame side of the pipes, no rust or holes! The Pennsylvania title is clear and in my name. Mileage on the title reads exempt by federal law but this is believed to be the original mileage. The engine could use a good scrubbing but runs very good. I will clean it some more as soon as (IF) the weather breaks here in Pennsylvania, it's just too damn cold for my bones to take any more! If you have any questions or concerns don;t hesitate to ask. I will answer them as honestly as possible. All shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer! I will accept paypal only under certain conditions! The winning bidder must contact me immediately to set up payment arrangements. Once full payment is received, I will release the bike to the shipper. I highly recommend going through USHIP.com as they are fast, inexpensive, and easy to deal with. I am not desperate to sell, am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly. I will not sugarcoat anything for the sake of a few extra dollars and am not in the business to screw anyone. With all the bikes I own or have owned over the years, I know how disappointing it is when someone over-sells a bikes condition so you may be sure I won't do that to you. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection. This is an AWESOME motorcycle! You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the bike and test drive it prior to bidding. Although this bike is sold "As Is" and "Without Warranty", I want you to be happy and I will do anything within reason to me to see that you are. Thank you and good luck! If you have any questions, please ask them now before you bid or buy! I reserve the right to end this auction at any time in order to sell this item locally as well. However, once reserve has been met, the bike will go to the highest bidder here on ebay! Good Luck! On Jan-19-13 at 12:37:10 PST, seller added the following information: Update! I just took the bike on a five-mile ride. It goes through the gears great and everything works the way it should. There are no wobbles, shimmies or shakes. However, It WILL need the carbs adjusted, rebuilt, etc.. as it has a tendency to bog when held wide open. This could be something as simple as re-jetting the carbs or as complex as a carb rebuild. I would replace the clutch cable and handle as well. The clutch doesn't slip and the bike, again, goes through the gears perfect. I just wanted to be fully honest here so you know exactly what you are bidding on. I have lowered the reserve 400 dollars to reflect this update. Feel free to ask further questions if you wish. Thanks again, Phil
