Vehicle Detail
This car is for PARTS only. The 2.3L, 1400cc engine and transmission work great. The engine purrs and the transmission glides smoothly through all gears, but the car has an electrical problem, and now it won't start. This was going to be a project car, but I'm only working part time and don't have the money to put into it, so it's time to go. The good.....brand new headlights and turn signals w/capsules, good tires, good glass, cd player w/stereo, great convertible top, dash and gauges are good. Interior is in fair shape. It has a newer alternator, rebuilt engine has 14,000 miles. Shocks, front coil springs and struts are 3 years old. The bad..........electrical short/open, car won't turn over(just clicks) The battery and cables have been removed. I found a severally dry rotted negative cable(bolts to the block) that I am convinced is the problem with the no starts. I have a new one but haven't installed it. It needs a new positive cable as well. The battery is great. The car has typical 90's Ford rust problems. While troubleshooting the electrical problem, we found that the frame is rusted through on the front left side, making the vehicle unable to be driven. I was told by the mechanic that a good body shop can repair the frame and get it into road worthy condition. If you choose to go another route, there are lots of hard to find Fox body parts. I have the clear title in hand. This is also being sold locally on other venues as well, so I reserve the right to cancel this auction with or without reasonable accommodation. There are potentially thousands of dollars in good parts on this car, but I don't have a great amount of motivation to dismantle it to part it out. So do it yourself or use it for your own restoration project. I have receipts for the work that has already been done on this car. The engine alone is worth a grand. I accept cash only.On Jan-19-13 at 19:48:26 PST, seller added the following information: Replaced Prosteer Swaybar Link Kit,Front Strut Cartridge/Struts, Front Coil Springs, Front Stabilizer Bar Control Link, Front Wheel Bearings and grease seals ~ 7/16/2010 Rear Tires~ Futura GLS P225/70TR15Front Tires~ P215/65TR15 Installed 7/26/2010 Replaced Trans Mount, Oil Pressure Switch, Modulator Valve~ 11/30/2010 Engine Rebuild including...Valve Springs, Oil Pump Screen, Head Bolt Set, Aux.
