Vehicle Detail
This listing is for a 1970 Chevy Suburban 2wd. It has a lowered look and a very nice rake to it. This is what I would call a daily driver with potential for a lot more. I have another fully restored '70 Suburban that I drive daily and this was going to be my dads project but he has a Nova that is taking up his time and money so this one has to go. I bought this Suburban in Palm Bay Florida in Jan, 2011 and used it while I was working a construction project down there. In fact, I bought it in Palm Bay and drove it 3 hours down to Jensen Beach on the same night. It drove flawlessly. The guy had been using it for a daily driver for his business. At the end of the project, I shipped it to Beckley, WV to my dads house and it has been there ever since. It has been driven a little and he even has done some work to it. The Burb runs good, starts easily and looks good (as a driver), but it needs some work. We replaced the front fenders with good ones and the tailgate with a nice one from a friend and enthusiast. Then my dad threw a daily driver paint job on it so he could run it this past summer. However, it needs a paint job and some body work (in my opinion) If you are just looking for a cool looking sled to roll down the road in, it will be fine as/is. It runs good and sounds unbelievable. I am not sure about the ride height or suspension mods, but the stance is very cool and it looks REALLY SWEET cruising down the road. However, with that said... It needs restored to make it nice. As I've been told, it was restored by a guy in NC about 7-8 years ago. At this point, it appears that someone did a great deal of work including a full restoration of the interior. However, the guy in Palm Bay bought it from him and then drove it for 7 years or so. So, it hasn't been babied. But, it is a GREAT start for someone looking for a SWEET ride. You could likely drive it as is if you wanted to. I didn't feel reluctant at all to drive it on a long trip, and it made it with no problems. It has a little rust as should be expected on a driver, and I he said he thinks the parking pawl in the tranny needs replaced because he cannot get it to stay in park. Who knows... could be the column shifter. But, it has always been this way and it's never rolled away on us. It also has a wire crossed with the park lights and brake lights. if Im not mistaken, the park lights go off when you hit the brakes.... something like that. I encourage you to see the truck prior to bidding. We will assist in getting it loaded if you are out of state and want to ship it, but please understand you are getting a truck that needs restored. $500 PAYPAL deposit required when using Buy It Now or within 72 hours of successful completion of auction. I've tried not to enforce this, but I got burned. Suburban has clear WV title
