1964 1/2 Ford Mustang. This is the first year Ford started manufacturing the Mustang. The first cars are referred to as "1964 1/2" Mustangs by their owners. They're technically not 1964 models, since they weren't rolled out in October of 1963 with the rest of the new 1964 Ford cars. The company was eager to show off their new car during the World's Fair, so they unveiled it in April of 1964. However, the first Mustangs are not true 1965 models, because those were rolled out in October of 1964. This car is in great condition, considering it's age. It is a 260 hp v8 automatic. The v8 engine sounds fantastic, and always turns heads. The dual exhaust provides a mean look, and is a desirable, much sought after feature on classic cars. New larger/wider tires have been installed to improve handling. Steel styled wheels are added to all four tires for aesthetic improvement. Yes, the wheels do clear the fenders when driving and taking turns. The original white wall tires and original hub caps are included. New Front shocks, and front coil springs installed for a smoother ride. Original gas tank included, however a new gas tank has been installed. The radio works, and has a working cassette player. Kenwood kdc-x895 cd player with usb interface installed, and mounted under the dash, also works. Front right fender did have damage, so a new original '65 ford mustang fender was installed. New fender fits flush, however the color does not match. This vehicle used to be my daily driver, but I am now in the market for something with a little better fuel economy.
