We bought this car because we love all Datsun and Nissan sports cars. When we bought the car we had all intentions to restore her back to where she should be. Unfortunately, things change and we find ourselves in what we call the “good intention blues”. I am on active duty in the US Navy and stationed in Virginia. The car is being taken care of by family in California. It gets regular baths and is driven weekly so that it is not just sitting. Unfortunately, we are unable to bring the roadster to Virginia like we had hoped. With regret, we have decided to sell the car so it can go to a good home and receive the care and attention it deserves. We purchased the vehicle in April of 2011 and put it in a Nissan Motorsports shop to make sure the car was roadworthy. A lot of work was done to it. As it is, it can be used as a daily driver or a great car for that person looking for a good working project car. Some of the things that were done: · The floorboards were replaced · New Carpet installed · Seats Reupholstered · New Seat Belts installed · Center Console reupholstered. · Custom Datsun name plate put in radio opening. (Radio opening not modified) · New American Racing Ultra Lite rims and new tires · Rare rearview mirror that attaches to the windshield’s center support · Windshield replaced · Vinyl racing stripe down the center of the car (not on removable hard top) The engine is mechanically sound and runs great. The engine/powertrain was rebuilt by the previous owner shortly before we purchased it from him. Only a few thousand miles have been put on the rebuilt engine. We bought the vehicle with the idea that it was a 1967 ½. It is registered as a 1967 ½. Under further investigation, we are unsure of the year but believe it could be 1966. There are some minor paint chips in places. No dents in the metal. The detachable hardtop is in need of repair. Around the window openings the fiberglass is broken. The porthole windows are showing their age with “spider web” aging in the plastic. The bumper guards are missing on both front and back bumpers. Windshield wipers not working but have the arms.
