GOOD NEWS: Really nice Cherokee. Bright red, Alloy Wheels, Good tires, A/C, 4.0 liter straight six, Automatic trans., Moon roof, luggage rack, power windows, locks, etc. Better Fuel mileage with Rear wheel drive. Clean, no rust. BAD NEWS: Needs Transmission rebuilt. Transmission Shop said: These are generally great transmissions. May have been over filled with fluid. Hard climb up mountain to Ski resort blew out front transmission seal. At a minimum it needs a new front seal on trans. it is pouring fluid from front. Local shop said for total rebuild $1800 to $2200. I do not have the money, time, or desire to repair. I have found used trannys at local junk yard for $250, but that takes time to swap. This is my son's car and he will be going to college soon and he wants a small fuel mileage car. So if you want a Cherokee and are a do it yourself kind of guy, or know someone who has a shop, you can save maybe $2500+ over buying another one and have a really nice Cherokee. Jeep looks great and ran good before trans. leak. We have owned the Jeep since July 2011. Previous owner evidently was a smoker the car smells much better than when we got it, but there are a few burn marks on passenger seat and in headliner. I tried to take pictures of most of the scratches or imperfections. Car is in good condition, but has normal amount of wear and tear for a one of this model. Last time we tried to open the moon roof it would not open. May need a new fuse or something. We never used it. Jeep is for sale locally as well, so I reserve the right to end listing if it sells locally first. If it does not sell we may go ahead and repair so watch for it re-listed if that is the case.
