Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1986 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I am selling this vehicle because I need something bigger (mainly to pull a large boat). Vehicle has spent all its life in the Southwest. I will point out all of the negatives on the truck (not because I hate it, I actually really love my truck, but so that you have no surprises). I used it mainly to travel...which is how I blew the engine. I was heading to Colorado and I had a leak in one of the coolant hoses. These engines are very durable as I was able to limp the truck back home. Once I got it home I overhauled the engine with a lot of modifications that would make it last even longer (longer than 250K miles!!). The interior is fairly clean, there are some cracks on the dashboard from the heat here in El Paso. I also took off some of the plastic trim from where the shifter lever is at since it would rub after I did the suspension lift. The convertible top has 2 rips on it from where I tried taking it off myself (dont try it, it's really heavy). Theres a dent on the quarter panel next to the drivers side door where somebody backed in to me at Whataburger, sadly there was no note with a name and number.... The engine has a small leak from the Power Steering pump, word on google is that it's just a matter of replacing some plastic o-rings (about $3). Also, the passenger side CV boot is torn, I never replaced because I was planning on installing the Total Chaos Caddy kit. So, now that the sad part is out of the way, onto the upgrades!! ENGINE: Upgraded timing chain which prevents it from sawing into the water pump ARP Cylinder Head studs which have more clamping force than stock head bolts Oversized stainless steel valves Engine valve bowl and seat enlarged for better air flow and increase horse power Upgraded RV camshaft Oversized High Compression Hypereutectic Pistons New water pump New High Flow Oil Pump New Oil Pressure Sensor Ported and Polished Head Balanced Crankshaft, pistons MSD Digital 6 Engine Manangement System MSD Coil MSD Coil Wire MSD Tach Adapter Optima Gel Battery Adapted a New Upgraded All Aluminum Radiator from LandCrusier Downey High Flow cold air intake Downey Military Spec Ceramic Coated Headers Upgraded 2.5 in Downey Exhaust System Upgraded Head Light System with ballast Suspension: I started out with Rancho shocks all the way around. I still have 2 of them for the rear new in the box Heavy Duty Torsion Bars from Sway-a-way (you can adjust front lift with these) Rear Leaf Springs were removed and replaced with longer flexible springs from All Pro Off Road. This involved cutting off the old hangers and welding some new ones. This increases flex, ride height and makes the the vehicle a little bit more comftorble over bumps. The springs also have greasable shackles. A reverse U-Bolt kit was also installed. Longer rear heavy duty shocks from Blistein were also installed. These shocks have a remote resorvoir as well Suspension has zero rust Rims were upgraded to ION ALLOY rims which are sized at 16x10. These rims also help in providing a little bit of lift. A 2in Polyurethane body lift has been installed All Pro Rock Sliders have also been installed (never used though). They have a unique "bump" in the rear that will actually push the vechile away from the rock. They also make a good lifting point. A Hi-lift Jack is included. A custom rear bumper was also installed from 4 Wheel Center. The bumper features a wrap around design that protects the veachile from anyone backing into you (take that Whataburger guy!!). The bumper also features a storage compartment for a Hi-Lift jack (included in the sale). It also features a gas tank storage tray which is also included in the sale. It also features a spare tire carrier (spare tire included). The part that rotates is also greasable so you'll never have a hard time swinging the gate open. I'll also throw in the lightbar that is in the pictures as well as 2 new rancho shocks and all the manuals that I have (which are several!) The rear tires will probably need replacing soon. The front tires still have plenty of tread left. As for the interior I installed 2 spotlights. Only the drivers side is wired, I didnt have time to wire the second one (but it works). Truck has a CB Antenna and a CB-Radio. The CB doesn't work. I bought it at a pawn shop and it stopped working 2 weeks later, so much for a warranty. The rear seats fold down and make for a good bed (great for camping). Other than that, the Toy is pretty much stock, email me at rudy@bsofelpaso.com if you have any questions. Happy Bidding :)
