Vehicle Detail
1971 VW Karmann Ghia California Car Garage KeptFull restore about 5 year agoRebuilt engine only has about 5k miles, runs and drives very strong.New items: New rims, tires, starter, steering wheel, alarm, radio, engine dress up kit, good interior. A little background on car:This car was purchased by my brother and I about a year ago from a older gentleman in NJ. This man was a VW collector and took care of his collection. The story behind the car is it was a California car that was bought by a local VW collector in NJ. The car was restored about 5 years ago which included total new interior, rebuilt engine and new floor pans. The older gentleman bought this car after the restore at a local VW show. Full disclosure: For a 41 year old car it has aged very well, the fact that it spent most its time in California and has not seen a East Coast winter has been its saving grace.A lot of Karmann Ghia's have rotted away and not many good cars left on East Coast. Tho the car is in very good condition it still has a few issues. It has a few small paint bubbles, no bigger then the size of a penny, and small surface rust here and there (small spots in engine compartment, small spots inside fenders) but nothing major and nothing that cannot be repaired. Included in sale: We have at least $1000 dollars in new parts that are new in box and not installed. The parts were to be used to lower the front of car and tuck in front wheels:Narrow Beam ($600)Drop Spindles ($300)Air Spring ($250)Misc bushings ($100) Theses parts will be included in sale of car, if you decide not to complete work can recover at least $1000 from selling parts. The narrow beam its self has a 8 month waiting list if you were looking to purchase. Last little bit of information:The car is located at a dealer on Consignment in the Hamptons, NY. At anytime I reserve the right to end auction as car is for sale locally. I have tried my best to describe the car as best and honestly as possible. If you have additional questions please contact me. PS- I dont know why the only option when listing is "Drive Type:UK" or what this means, please disregard. Buyer is responsible for shipping and transportation.
