Vehicle Detail
No Reserve! Ends New Years Day, 2:30pm Eastern time. Hello and thanks for looking at this auction for my 1981 F100 step/flare side. Please Bid to own. This means I do not have "number" that I want to get for it. I bought another truck and I just want to sell it and not haggle and negotiate what its worth - eBay is perfect. If your looking for a classic un-restored completely rust free Ford truck you can drive and tinker with, this is it. I put a set of my wheels on it and drive it as it is around town for work errands, out to eat, local car shows ect (on nice days - it is now stored for winter) . Restore it or drive it as is...it gets complements and thumbs-up everywhere I drive it. I take ebay seriously, see my feedback. Detailed Info:1981 Ford F100 flare step side, wood box, 302 automatic. Shows 35k on odometer... assuming 135k or 235k. It is not new or a show truck but is one darn clean and 100% solid rust free original Ford from in Arizona. It has never been driven in snow/salt or seen a Michigan winter. It runs and drives good for a 30+ year old truck. I have about 50 pics of it, ebay only lets me upload 24. Message me for pics of the underside, bottom of doors...more interior, more exterior. The 302 does not smoke or leak. 2 bbl carb - Choke sets and Starts up, runs and idles good. It does not hesitate or stuble. Has a frame mounted fuel pump that is noisey. It runs very very smooth. The Engine is not original and I think that it is from a 90 or so Ford. Distributer cap, wires, plugs are all new about 2k miles ago. Compression is 140-160 in all 8 cylinders. Oil change was 1000 miles ago. 3 speed Automatic trans shifts good and where is should under light acceleration...shifts a little late under medium accleration. It does not slip and shifts firm...just seems to have a high shift point under medium acceleration. My guess is that the donor was a car that weighed less. Has no ill effect on everyday driving - I am just making note of everything I noticed owning it. Interior is average condition. There is no carpet or floor padding currently so you can see it has no floor rust at all. It does have a hole cut in the center from short lived B/M floor shifter. There is a hole in the driver side door panel under the black tape. The dash pad was repaired - looks good but can still see the repaired spots at some angles but still has a big hole for the center speaker. A red dash pad cover is included. The interior door locks do not work, must be locked with a key. The seat is a different color (lt blue) from another truck. No Radio but there are boston acoustic speakers in the door. I have not had a chance to install the radio, it is included - cd player with USB port. Dealer option A/C truck but it is not working. Nothing is hooked up. The drivers window sticks going up (typical). Bed wood will need to be replaced eventually. There is currently a 1/2" thick rubber pad in the back now and can be used normally like this (been this way about 10 years!)Dent in passenger door as pictured. Original paint is faded as pictured. Any exposed metal has been epoxy coated clear. The entire underside of the truck has been epoxy coated clear (if this is not done the metal begins to rust immediatly here in Michigan)Currently needs shocks and an alignment (has a slight pull). Recent maintenance performed: Cooling system flush (winter prep), New Battery. Brakes are good. Brand new Goodyear Wranglers on Detroit Vintage Wheels restored 15x8.5 ET Cyclone wheels. ($1500.00 package)Terms:Your welcome to come see the truck. We can drive it if there is no snow and the roads are dry; otherwise you will just be looking. Payment will be required within 7 days of auction end.. Payment by bank to bank wire transfer or CASH is preferred at pick up. I will not accept checks or money orders. Clean Notorized Title is ready to go.You can take as long as you want to pick it up after paying for it. I only want a good sale that everybody is happy with in the end. Please ask any questions before bidding, 248.890.2504. I think who ever gets the truck will really like it - they just are not around anymore. There are no gaurantees or warranty of course but I feel it is reliable and I would even offer to drive it to the winning bidders location in the continental US for the cost of gas, hotels, and my plane ticket home and the end auction price all paid in advance...but I doubt anyone is willing to do that for my old Ford. And with snow on the ground that makes this potentially slippery. I really do not want to ship it, but we can do that.. I would prefer you show up and inspect it and make sure your happy - but if you want to have it shipped ok. I have attempted to thoroughly include everything regarding its condition, but sure I have missed a few things, there for the sale is "as is" just like any other used car sale.thanks for looking. On Dec-25-12 at 12:12:25 PST, seller added the following information: The passenger side door was not not fully closed when I took the pictures of that side. It opens and closes nice and tight - just want to make note of that. There is also a few dings on the hood presumably from hail at some point. See pics. Passenger side mirror is missing...On Dec-25-12 at 12:13:50 PST, seller added the following information: Also, it is a F100 not a F150. I did not realize there was a F100 pic when listing it - it was farther down the list. Hope this helps.
