Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a very clean, 1964 - 2 door hardtop LeMans. It is a driver quality that can be driven as-is or restored to your taste. Will make an excellent GTO, and already has a 325 horse (factory) 389 motor out of a 66. The tranny is a 3 speed auto. It has power steering, no air, manual brakes, dual exhaust non-posi-10 bolt. Floors and frame are in great shape and need NO repairs. The trunk has one small spot as shown in photo, the rest of the trunk that looks rusty is only surface and is just in need of paint. The motor is strong, does not smoke at all but the lifters tick when first started. It has a new Eddelbrock carb but comes with the original carb and air cleaner. The car drives nice, steers straight, brakes and exhaust are perfect. The power steering pump has a tight spot in it so I removed the belt. Will probably need replaced but does work as is. All lights, blinkers, and horn work fine. The windshield wipers do not work. All windows roll up and down as they should. Back ones are tight but they do work. Interior is nice, headliner is good. Door panels are good. It does need a package tray and sail panels but other than that it is decent driver quality. It has an after market shifter. I also have the original one but the stick is broken, I am trying to fix it but no guarantees. Tires are good, all glass is good and it is not missing any trim at all on the entire car. Very hard car to find in this condition at an affordable price. Reserve is low so please don't ask. It is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thank you for looking. On Dec-25-12 at 12:44:12 PST, seller added the following information: My description as a hardtop was incorrect, it is actually a coupe. On the GTO's it is considered a "sports coupe" the lightest of the 3 body styles.
