Vehicle Detail

For sale a 1994 Chevrolet Lumina - more or less converted into a camper. Has to be picked up before the 1st of January in LA. I have lots of pictures. Email me for more. This ones are from yesterday. Bought it in Moab, and lloks like it spent its life in the desert. I am using it now for a trip through the Pacific Coast Highway, and will be in LA at the end of the month to deliver it to its new owner. The mileage is now 181000miles, but is going to increase 1 or 2 thousand miles more by the end of the auction. I built a box that works as a trunk, and has the same height as the rear seats, so when you fold the seats you can put a mattress on top, and sleep wherever you want, as we do. It is really confortable, and has lots of little storage places as well as you nice coffee mug holder. Whenever you want, you can remove the box and the mattress and use it as a normal van. And the rear seats are also easily removable if you need to. Personally, I would actually remove them for more space, but like this is pretty flexible if you can carry friends (or family) around. There is a cooler/warmer that works through the rear lighter outlet (that you can also plug to the mains) The mattress in the pictures is included, and so are the cooler/warmer and the sleeping bags, snow chains and a Haynes Manual. The tyres are nearly new(4 months old), and this month we've been driving a lot on snow and never slipped once, so I think they might be allweather (not sure about that, but they definitely give you a grip) Mechanically: - Great drive. You'll notice as soon as you drive it, or read reviews about this van online, you'll se people love it. Is fast and powerfull, smooth, and just feels good. - Oil and filter changed a month ago. - New alternator a month ago. - Leaks on the exhaust pipe welded a month ago.- New wheel bearings on front driver's wheel. - best I can get is 27MPG, but usually is 25MPG, or less (not much less either) depending how you drive. Bad Points: (I am really being picky but I don't want anybody expecting showroom condition) - Lots of cosmetic TLC in the bodywork needed and paint faded: - One bolt in the rear window (not noticeable, doesn't change anything, just cosmetic) - In Portland I reversed into a trailer, and I perforated the front door… It is a pretty big scratch that penetrates in the door. Then again, nothing serious apart from cosmetic. I put duct tape on it. - Both mirrors are smaller that their alocated spot (they are perfectly usable, but they are a bit smaller, you can put bigger mirrors) - Passenger's power window doesn't work. - Locks of doors: - Passenger door only opens from inside (nobody steals the van) - Sliding door opens sometimes, sometimes does not. - Tail gate door doesn't lock. (I put a string inside, so the it is always locked). One of the springs doesn't work, needs replacement, but I'll give you a hi-tech pole that I use and does the same job. - There is a really hardly noticeable noise when you drive. I don't know what it is. Took it the garage, forked out 400 dollars and the noise is still there. Went to another garage who changed a wheel bearing and made me fork out another 250 bucks, and again nothing changed (apart from my pocket). I learnt to ignore it. All in all it needs a bit of work, but it is just cosmetical, and it really i a great van and a pleasure to drive. I reserve the right to end the auction earlier as it is advertised somewhere else... My number is 435-210-0623 and I am now driving around California, o if you want to check ou the van and that day i happen to be near you, you can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW INFORMATION: - Sometimes (not always) a "service engine soon" comes up.- Also, I forgot to mention that the car's engine pressure was great: 122, when 144 is what it comes out of the factory. What I mean is that the engine has power, when you press the accelerator it is fast.- The curtains I put up are pretty basic, don't expect anything professional, but at least are just tied, so you can easily remove them if you prefer something better.
