Very nice Chevrolet 3500 HD with low original mileage. 77,800. This vehicle was owned by a local sign company and had a bucket truck bed on it. 5 years ago the truck was making valve train noise and a local shop told them it would need a new engine. At the time the Chevy Duramax HD trucks had just come out, so they decided to put that bed on a new truck instead of repairing this truck. I am a mechanic, and few months ago I acquired the truck. I looked the truck over and found that the engine was fine, but in need of a head gasket on the passenger side, which is a common problem on 6.5 Diesels. New Fel-pro gaskets and head bolts were used in installation of head along with intake gaskets. Head looked good and crosshatches could still be seen in cylinder walls. Engine has aprox. 8400 hours on it, but starts and runs very well. There is some white smoke with cold start up which is common, but I have seen no grey or blue smoke. I have been driving this truck now for 3-4 weeks and it has been running very well and has been dependable with plenty of power. Turbo spools up very quickly and truck has smooth acceleration through all gears and on the highway. 5 speed transmission shifts through all gears well and the clutch feels tight. Tires are aprox 30-50% with minor dry rot. There are pictures of each set, you may be able to see some in a couple of the pictures. Tires could be replaced but have some life left in them. Trucks stops well, brakes appear to be in good condition. Body is straight and paint is in overall good condition, there are a few minor chips. On the left front side fender beside the hood panel there is a little bigger place I tried to get pictures of. Those seem to be newer chips, and I have not tried to touch those up. There are several very small chips on the hood I would consider minor, but if you look close you may be able to see them. The seats are in very good condition other than one small tear on the drivers side top seam (pictures in album) There is some staining and wear from typical use on seats and door pannels, as well as floor. Over all in great shape! Heater works very well! AC was tested and appears to work well, it may need to be charged in the summer. Kind of hard to tell as it is so cold right now. All functions seem to be working properly. Radio works, will test the cd player. (Lower tuner knob is missing and clock's memory doesn't seem to hold-everytime you start the truck it says 12:00) Drivers side sun visor is missing, but there is a pannel that is shown in the photographs that is an add on. The pannel has some extra storage space and not a cheap add on, there was probably a radio and cassette player mounted there. Those are no longer there. The truck is equiped with a Muncy PTO which is still in place on the transmission and is fully functional. No pumps are attached to the PTO. Being a cab and chassies this gives you the abilty to do just about anything you can dream up with this truck. This could be made into a tow truck, dump truck or service truck exct.
