1969 Datsun 510 2 Door I purchased this car in 2007 with a need for full restoration (1 picture on link). This is a late 1968 production car with the door pulls like the 1968 (car # 48,681 produced). The car was stored in a barn in Oregon prior to my purchase and there was absolutely no rust. The car underwent a 2 year restoration where it was taken to metal and straightened with body hammers and minimal filler. Through the transformation some things were smoothed out and shaved which you can read below. Because of the rarity of the 1969 model year I chose to keep the original side markers and "Datsun" emblem in the rear. The fender emblems were replaced with the popular "Bluebird" emblems and a rare "SSS" front grill was added. The bumper seams were welded and re-chromed at The Bumper Shop in Los Angeles. I kept the stock interior as well as dash gauges. I prefer the 1969 gauges over the 1970-73 gauge clusters. Practically everything on the car has been replaced with better parts or restored and it worked well as my daily driver for over a year. It has always been garaged since my ownership and meticulously maintained. The motor runs very strong and pulls hard with approximately 200HP at the crank. There is approximately 10,000 miles on the motor and 5,000 miles after full paint and restoration. Rear deck tray was not cut!!
