Vehicle Detail

1964 Corvair Spyder Convertible with Tons of Extra Parts. No Reserve! Just found out I am moving to the East Coast and have to sell the car and all the spare parts ASAP. The car currently runs and drives but may need engine work as it started spitting oil out of the dipstick. It could be a simple fix, I have no idea. It has an electric fuel pump kit and the generator has been converted to an alternator. Overall it is a great project car. I have a boat load of extra parts that go along with the auction: · Brand new black Clarks Corvair convertible top (still in box with new back window included) · 3 turbo engines in various states of disassembly-blocks, heads, shrouds etc · Extra 4 speed transmission · Extra turbo and crossover · Extra Carter carburetor · Power top unit (dash has the controls for it) · Set of 4 dog dish Corvair hubcaps · Turbo airfilter canister · Starter · Alternator · Heater controls · Extra dash pieces · Various other parts I originally bought this car in California as an original Spyder only to find out later that it is a conversion (was a Monza from the factory according to the number on the body). The conversion is about 80% done. It has a Spyder engine, side emblems, dash with Spyder gauges, Spyder glove box door. I also have the Spyder turbo emblem for the rear decklid/hood but it needs to be installed (the decklid is the original Monza I believe). The boost gauge tube, head temp wiring, and tachometer wiring are all that needs to be done for the conversion to be complete. The body is very straight except for a small dent on the body under the front bumper. As usual the floor boards have rust as do the rocker panels under the trim. Should be easy to get it ready to paint. The interior is black and in fair condition. The passenger seat is pretty rotted but the rest is pretty good. The dash pad is perfect with no cracks and the glass is all intact with no chips or cracks. This is a great project car, I just ran out of time and have no place for it in our new place on the East Coast. There is easily $1500 worth of parts that go with it so bid away. No Reserve! On Dec-21-12 at 10:40:55 PST, seller added the following information:***I seem to have fixed the oil spitting issue. I put a larger hose on the pcv line going into the air filter. The old one was much smallervthan the factory. I have driven it around town twice now and it hasn't spit any oil.***
