Vehicle Detail

Hi all, up for sale is this original, 1978 Mercury Bobcat Runabout. Body is in great shape. It has no dents and 95% of the prep work is done so paint should be a breeze. There is very minimal rust as this is a true California car. Doors open and close without binding. Interior has never been touched. Windows roll up and down and seal up pretty well. All glass is in good condition with no cracks. Horn, radio, wipers, blinkers, dash lights, tail lights, brake lights, back up lights and head lights (both low and high) all work. Engine runs pretty good considering it still has the original 2700VV carburetor. The picture of the tach and speedo was taken within 2 minutes of start up and as you can see, it is in gear at idle (750 rpm) with the parking brake on. Car has plenty of acceleration and happily cruises down the freeway. The transmission feels really good. Shifts to all gears and has absolutely zero slippage. Brakes are good enough to lock 'em up if you need to. Front end is still tight and the alignment is only off by a hair. Power steering is also working. AC compressor does engage but I'm pretty sure it will need freon. It will be the buyers responsibility to arrange shipping if you are not local. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Happy bidding and good luck. PS I do reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally. On Dec-11-12 at 15:01:10 PST, seller added the following information: Update! I have great news. I took the Bobcat out for a 70 mile test drive and it couldn't have gone better. It ran great, had zero overheating issues, and the transmission worked flawlessly. This is a solid car and a driver at that.
