Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 2000 BMW 740il E38 body style. I drove the car up until last year, at which point one of the O-rings in the heater core was leaking and required a 20-hour job to replace the heater core. A BMW technician did the work on the heater core and it works properly now after a total cost of over $4k. The car just needs a new cupholder (common problem), rear side window shade, and some interior pieces and wiper arms to be put back in, but does run and drive fine. Could use an oil change due to the time. Instead of replacing the interior trim panels with the old worn-out panels at the time of the heater core job, I purchased brand-new interior trim pieces which were over $1k alone to be re-installed upon completion of the heater core job. It would probably take the new owner about an hour to do it. I no longer have any use for the car and have a new car, and it's just taking up driveway space - and it's too cold this time of year to finish working on it, so my loss is your gain. No check engine lights the last time it was running, and I don't believe there are any now. The oil was changed every 3k with Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro Formula, and all filters are OEM filters from BMW. I have a commercial account through my local BMW dealership that enables me to purchase parts at discounted rates, but the total cost of all parts would otherwise be well over $5k. In the pictures posted you can see some of the receipts that total over $2k alone just for some recent work. The interior is in very good condition with only the drivers seat having some wear, but could be restored with chemicals without the need for replacement. The exterior is in excellent condition for the year and has minimal blemishes. The car has no rust whatsoever. It has good brakes, it's just been sitting for almost a year so they need to be worn in, otherwise they're fine. The tires are $260 Michelin MXV4's that have some life left in them, but will need replacement at some point in the next year if driven. Car still rides comfortably. Navigation functions properly as does the incredible sound system. Locks, windows, sunroof, etc all work properly. I have the original manuals, paperwork, and even the BMW factory plastic key that I keep in my wallet in case I ever lost the main key. All TSB's and warranty issues were addressed as they came, so the new owner can be sure that there are no surprises. The car has the BMW M62TU 4.4L motor which is extremely reliable and will run forever if properly maintained. Transmission shifts fine and also comes with new filters and $800 in BMW synthetic transmission fluid alone in the event that the transmission needs to be serviced or for preventative maintenance. Can be driven away if needed but would prefer if the new owner had it shipped via trailer due to the fact it's been sitting for almost a year. $500 non-refundable deposit required within 48 hours of auction end, preferably by PayPal but message me if you have any different ways you'd like to pay. Full payment required within 7 days of auction end. Title In-hand, car's gotta go. Bid with confidence as I have 100% feedback on ebay; please do not bid if you don't have any feedback unless you message me first prior to bidding. Message me with any questions. Thanks! EDIT: Could not post all pics of receipts due to 24 picture limit; message me and I'll email them to you. For interstate transfers, uship.com has the best rates that I've seen online. I am relisting the car after the first buyer backed out because he did not realize shipping a BMW from NY to CA wasn't exactly cheap. On Dec-11-12 at 04:07:23 PST, seller added the following information:Please do not bid if you do not have cash in-hand and have means of picking up the car or can afford to ship it.
