Background I bought this Bright Island Blue 2008 Mazda Mazda6i Value Edition 5-door last year with the intention of using it as a commuter vehicle with some spice. For various reasons, that didn't happen, and I've only driven it about 2,000 miles since acquiring it. It has been garaged, maintained and used sparingly... I think it is probably the nicest first generation Mazda6 you will find anywhere. And it's also a rare Mazda6 hatchback – note the added utility of the large trunk but the conventional sedan-like styling. It's like having an SUV... that's fun to drive and sips fuel! It was delivered new in Oklahoma City in mid-2008. I bought it in October of 2011 as a certified pre-owned vehicle, which means that it included a lengthy $0 deductible powertrain warranty (more on that in a minute). Since I have owned this Mazda, it has not been smoked in, no pets or children have been in it and it has been regularly washed and waxed. It sits inside all day and night – it is only outdoors when it is driven! I talked with the original owner before buying it and she (a nurse) said she used it in essentially the same way. She traded it on a Mazda crossover because she was having a baby. Currently, it has under 30,000 miles. That's subject to change a little since I will occasionally drive it, but it won't change much. I can't guarantee that it will be under 30,000 when it is delivered, but I doubt it will be above 30,100. Details This Mazda6 includes the 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission. I measure my fuel economy with every tank. I average 25 mpg in mixed driving and have seen upwards of 32-33 mpg on the highway. It is front-wheel-drive and it includes six airbags and traction control. If you're not familiar with this car, I suggest you search for reviews... these were critically acclaimed for their combination of practicality and driving fun. Mazda's “zoom-zoom” mantra is more than just a tag line! This really is the most fun-to-drive midsize car you'll find. Options Aside from the standard Mazda6i Value Edition features... Power driver's seat 17” alloy wheels and Michelin tires 6-CD changer air conditioning (ice cold) power windows/locks/mirrors and two working remotes map and visor lights unused spare tire Note that the factory “window sticker” is included. This 6 also includes... A factory power moonroof Dealer-installed Mazda accessory fog lamps Dealer-installed Mazda accessory iPod input (control through steering wheel buttons) Mazda accessory carbon fiber-style interior trim Dealer-installed tinted windows (I believe there is a lifetime warranty on this, but you would have to go to Oklahoma City to have work done) Note that the rearview mirror with garage controls is not included. A standard Mazda day/night mirror will be reinstalled. I will leave the wiring intact if you want to buy a garage control mirror ($50 on eBay). Condition – BRAND NEW A car can never be new again, but this one is darn close. It has never been wrecked and has never had paint work. There is not a single dent anywhere on it. The closest thing to “damage” is a small scuff in the rear bumper (see detail shot of rear bumper below). You have to be in the right light to even see it. In the interest of full disclosure, there is also a miniscule impression on the top of the rear bumper probably caused when the previous owner put something heavy in the trunk and leaned it on the bumper. Again, you have to be in the right light to see it. It's the same story inside. The cloth seats are perfect with no marks or stains. The headliner is as new. The carpets are perfect, although the floor mats show some light wear (a conditioning might bring them back, but I used rubber mats – not included – during my ownership). The only mark to note inside is that there are some light scuffs around the automatic transmission gear lever. The four matching Michelin Pilot tires are in good shape with about 40-50% of the tread remaining on three and 90% remaining on one (replaced after a nail was found in the sidewall in August of 2011). WARRANTY details The $0 deductible Mazda warranty (NOT aftermarket) is good until 5/28/2015 or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is a major extension of the factory warranty and it stays with the car, not the owner. Service history With about 29,900 miles, the Mazda6 has not needed much. Below, you can see links to images of all services that have been performed under my ownership, as well as those done at the dealer by the previous owner. She ensured me (and I still have the email if you want to see it) that she had the oil changed regularly. A Die Hard battery was installed in December of 2011. The original window sticker showing MSRP and installed options is also included – a rare item that most people throw away! The owner's manual and related documents are also included. If you win... When the Mazda is picked up, full payment can be made in cash or a cashier's check ONLY (I prefer a cashier's check). I'll re-answer them here so everyone can see. - Both remotes work- Spare tire has never been on the ground- No rust anywhere (OK/TX car... cars don't really rust here)- I am a non-smoker and so was the previous owner. I am confident this car has never been smoked in. In fact, it still has that "new car" smell. Here is how I would like payment if you are not local... $500 via Paypal with 48 hours. Remainder due within 3 days via cashier's check from U.S. or Canadian bank sent to me via overnight Fedex.
