Vehicle Detail

1983 MAZDA RX-7 GSL COUPEONE OWNER - Old Lady Absolutely Stock - No Modifications - Never Raced Road & Track's "Best Car for the Eighties"in its class by unanimous vote This car belongs to my mother. She is the original owner. She bought it new in 1983 after my parents divorced. Now she is 81 years old. She adores this car, but it is no longer suitable for her, because it's just too difficult for her to get in and out of it. Even the new hip she had installed hasn't improved the situation. This is the only car she ever bought new. If there is one thing she learned from my father, that's how to take care of a car, and the importance of following the factory-prescribed service intervals. She never drove the car in winter (she bought a little used Toyota as the sacrificial winter runner), and always kept the RX-7 in the garage. She kept the car clean, and never smoked in it. She took the car in regularly for service, and she never permitted anyone other than herself and her mechanic drive the car. It was not easy for her to come to the conclusion that she should let the car go. But she finally made the difficult decision, and asked me and my husband, an experienced mechanic, to see about placing the car for her. This car is like a pet to her, and she hopes we can find someone who will care about and for this vehicle. This sports car needs to be driven. They are minor signs of the passage of time and 100K of loving use, such as you would anticipate on a 30-year-old vehicle: - Some paint chips on front end (see photo)- Exhaust beginning to get noisier; tips missing (see photo)- Scratch on driver's door (2.5" long; see photo) and passenger's door (no photo yet)- Front bumper has been tapped, but is still straight (see photo)- Some surface rust on running gear - Rear hatch support struts should be replaced to properly hold the glass- Starter occasionally spins out, but it always starts and starts well- Original wheels have surface deterioration (see photo), but no air pressure loss- Tires have good tread, but are aged We will do our best to answer any questions you may have.
