Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1993 BMW 525i Touring. I love this car but my job and location require 4x4/4wd/awd. I bought this car from the older, doctor son of the original purchaser who bought the car in her 70s. I have the original lease and purchase documents, window sticker, and repair history from them in a folder. This is the most balanced, well-thought out car I have ever driven. It has 127k miles and I put 64k of those on it. That said, the car has not had an easy time in my care. Life happens. It had a fender bender on the driver's front, you can see it has a bit of an Elvis lip, and a big truck tire hit the passenger front. The first two owners took it through the wash weekly and you can see the clearcoat has suffered for it. The two rear window motors are too weak to trust. The covering over the rear liftgate interior is gone with the toolkit too. The rear wiper fuse is pulled because it shorted to always on. Defroster works though. A ding or two, almost zero rust, see the pics. A GREAT starting point for your build. Wearing German Eagle F1 tires that C&D rated at .94 on a dry skidpad and .82 wet - these were the perfect tires for Orlando where I owned this car. It has been parked since I moved into my Western New York house in November. I have clear Florida title but do not have current registration or insurance on it, so it does not leave my driveway and won't until you own it. But I have started and moved it in the driveway regularly. What else - oil change due, has had a 'seep' leak out of valve cover for years, doesn't drip. Seal between the radiator and lower hose is leaking, don't know if it's dry or a problem there. Dual-action sunroof works, rear leveling suspension doesn't. Leather is in pretty good shape, some wear to driver, but not like the Florida cars I've seen. Original owner's manual and accessories book. Dash display s 100% when warm, bottom two rows of pixels out when cold. Put made in Italy Brembo rotors and US Akebono pads on when I put on the tires two summers ago. Brake wear light has been on since, bad connection at the sensor but I have ignored it. Check engine liight on, code is for the 02 sensor. Exhaust sounds like a perfomance exhaust but is stock, so expect a little rust down there. It's not wake-your-neighbors loud, it has a beautiful I6 rumble. Wheels are ASA licensed from BBS, have some scarring from corrosion and one has some scrape, but the look great. Original spare in the car. Tow hitch installed but never used. Check the pics, ask questions, and if you don't buy mine, buy somebody's, because this is the seriously the finest car I've owned. If I hadn't come to NY it would be my lifetime car. I wouldn't hesitate to drive the car anywhere, then take care of the smal immediate needs and makeit your own in time. I will say that with these tires you won't want to drive in snow. :-) I am not a dealer or a mechanic and have done my best to list all that I know but I am not perfect so you are buying as is, where is, with all faults known or not, stated or not. Check my feedback and buy with confidence! Many pics here: BMW
