Vehicle Detail

1972 CB 500 Four It’s not often you find a bike this clean. Kept indoors all of its life, for sale is this ALL ORIGINAL, two-owner, survivor with barely 15000 original miles. Inside the tank is coated and clean, all chrome is in good shape but not perfect. Two of the pipes have muffler tape on them to cover small discrepancies. One pipe has a thumb-sized size hole on the underside of the shifter-side pipe, the brake side upper pipe had chrome peeling at the weld where the pipes connect to the header. The rest of the pipe on both sides is good and I saw no need to replace either side as this is not a show bike but a very nice, excellent running, daily rider. I bought this bike from a lady who inherited the bike from her father who bought it new. She rode it back and forth to work as often as possible and only sold it because she was in a financial bind. Someone attempted to steal it from her and in the process bent the handlebars slightly (about a half-inch) on the throttle side(nothing that affects the steering or ride), barely noticeable. Seat is perfect with no rips, tears or dry-rot. There are no visible leaks nor am I aware of anything leaking anywhere. Tires are in good condition. Some light pitting on rims and spokes but nothing major. The speedometer is broken but I didn’t want to remove it from the bike as it is the original piece. I will include a good speedometer with the bike. I removed the mirrors for photo purposes. They aren’t real clean but I will include them with the bike as well. Resurrections by Ray here in Mercer, Pa. did a fantastic paint-job on this bike and returned it as close to the original color as possible. Candy Bacchus Olive Green paint is fresh with 6 coats of clear. Tank was stripped to the bare metal, and side covers were refreshed as well. Again, this is NOT a show bike but would make a VERY nice daily rider that will give you minimal problems and draw a crowd everywhere it goes! I have set a low reserve as I understand the bike has a few flaws. However, it is ALL original except for the paint and is well on its way to being restored. Carburetors have been professionally cleaned and synced. This baby starts at just the push of the starter button or on the first or second kick even when cold and will idle at 1200 rpms all day. Runs perfect through all of the gears and screams to redline without hesitation. No known mechanical issues. All shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer! I will accept paypal only under certain conditions! The winning bidder must contact me immediately to set up payment arrangements. Once full payment is received, I will release the bike to the shipper. I highly recommend going through USHIP.com as they are fast, inexpensive, and easy to deal with. I am not desperate to sell, am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! I have many photos of the bike but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly. I will not sugarcoat anything for the sake of a few extra dollars and am not in the business to screw anyone. With all the bikes I own or have owned over the years, I know how disappointing it is when someone over-sells a bikes condition so you may be sure I won't do that to you. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection. This is an AWESOME motorcycle but keep in mind it is nearly 40 years old and UNRESTORED! You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the bike and test drive it prior to bidding. Although this bike is sold "As Is" and "Without Warranty", I want you to be happy and I will do anything within reason to me to see that you are. Thank you and good luck! If you have any questions, please ask them now before you bid or buy! I reserve the right to end this auction at any time in order to sell this item locally as well. However, once reserve has been met, the bike will go to the highest bidder here on ebay! Good Luck!
