Vehicle Detail

1966 MGB, strictly for parts. No VIN or title, long gone, and I'd say the shell isn't worth restoring - rust in floors, doglegs, crack of doom on both doors. I bought this as a parts car and took some off, but really very little, only things I could fly home with. I would have taken the hood, carbs, seat frames, and probably the engine/trans if I could have, but hadn't the time. The good: All original, and COMPLETE except for the following Was missing when I got it: licence plate bracket rear, logo and stantion from grille, door toppers and dash pad, rad cap, air cleaners, three hubcaps, one front bumperette, left front fender trim, top and frame. And I took: tallight lenses and surrounds, trunk wiring harness, one headlight ring, speedo, tach, fuel guage, key tumbler, electrical switching block and washer bottle (in pictures, but removed right after), inner door handles, radio front plate (but BMC radio is still in there), glovebox door -still has aluminum hood, no dings/bondo I can see -steering wheel is correct and feels solid, but I suspect an amateur repair under the leather cover -engine oil is full on the dipstick and nothing weird in it, looks like a proper 18GH engine -trans shifts through the gears easily, early kinked-lever non-overdrive. Actually now that I think about it, I didn't even look to see if it was overdrive, but no switch on the left so presume no -carb pistons and linkage move freely, in fact the dashpot damper oil is still full and slows the plungers, if I had to guess I'd say they're good, wish I could've taken them. The bad: Despite total originality, considering the rust and no title, this is parts. But the hood, carbs, maybe engine, and original seat frames alone should be useful to someone. I've restored three early roadsters already and I love them to death. If I were nearer to where I bought this, I'd strip off everything useful and insert those parts into other cars. But this is now for someone else to do. No reserve, $1 starting price, no VIN or title, you have to pick up the whole car as is where is, but you'll get value out of the hood and carbs and maybe more. It's at a friend's business in Griffin GA, and I want to trouble him as little as possible, so no viewings please, and you'll just have to winch it on a trailer. About an hour south of Atlanta. Feel free to ask any questions - I love British cars and want to save whatever possible for the enthusiast community, and hope someone can use some of this.
