Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Offered for Sale is a 1950 Dodge Wayfarer 2dr. Sedan. The Wayfarer had the 115” wheelbase and was much lighter and nimble than the larger Meadowbrook and Coronet on the 123” wheelbase. This car has the L-head “flathead” six with the fluid drive transmission. The car is a pleasure to drive, over the summer we traveled 500 miles round trip. And had no problems even in the 95 degree heat. All electrical items work as they should including wipers, heat, and defroster. The car was restored in the late 90’s. The engine was rebuilt. The electrical system was converted to 12 volt and the generator was replaced with an alternator. I added the oil filter, but it is not currently plumbed to the engine. The transmission is fluid drive, (not gyro-matic). It performs best when driven as a 3-speed manual. This car was repainted and the interior was redone in the earlier restoration. The paint is driver quality, with some scratches and nicks. The interior is excellent. Windshield, rear glass, and door glass have been replaced. The vent and rear qtr. glass are original. The chrome is driver quality with some pitting on the rear trunk handle, side door handles, and hood ornament. I replaced the rear lights and chrome bezels along with the front turn signal lens. These are NOS glass, not aftermarket plastic. This car was offered with two radios. This car has the more expensive. It lights up, but does not operate “make noise”. A tape player has been installed in the glove box and plays through the speakers. There were three climate systems “heaters” available, and this car has the most expensive model 500.The whitewalls are “port-o-walls”. The car has no issues. The engine, brakes and transmission work fine. The horn, wipers, exterior lights and gauges all work. This car is “Driver” quality and is not perfect. Keep in mind, the car is 62 years old. This is a great “driver, cruise-in” vehicle that the whole family can ride in. When you go to the shows, you will not see a row of the same cars you have. If you want the fun, joy, and nostalgia of the 50’s, but don’t want to mortgage the farm, this car might work for you. If so, good luck bidding! I have made every effort to describe this vehicle accurately. I encourage inspections, and will try to accommodate most request. Please do not bid unless you have the funds.
