Vehicle Detail
1970 Plymouth Road Runner Coupe B5 Blue Metallic never been repainted. This car was my dream for many years since 1987 but I will never have the time to finish it. I installed new cylinder heads on it in 1988 and street raced it in and around the Asbury area for a brief time. It has custom rear springs with slapper bars (traction bars) as was customary then lol. It has a Dana 60 rear axle with 4:10 gears and may have been equiped with that since new because the car was specially ordered through Wagner Dodge and they would equip cars at that time for the local street vermin. I spoke to the owner of Wagners in the early 90s and he confirmed that they were ordered and modified prior to leaving the dealership regularly. The fellow I bought it from was second owner and he also only raced it. The odometer shows about 17,000 miles and while New Jersey motor vehicles at the time refused to allow me to show that mileage I can say it has original brakes, shocks and so forth and so I believe it to be true but title says 117,000 (thanks New Jersey I will miss you not someday). Dash remains uncut and uncracked and is the rally dash, tick toc tach with console and had the retractable lap belts and power steering. As you can see in the photos I took armor all to part of the door panel and it comes right up with even the beading coming back to life. I think if you were looking for an easy to restore and mostly original car this is the one. I also have some other items that I had collected over the years that would go with it but I am not sure of what I do have but I do have an original thumb wheel radio and plate for the dash. I have multiple pieces of trim and you would get the best of what I have and I might even give it all to you for a few dollars if you wish including interior parts and a set of slicks on slotted mags (painted black of course). I think I even have the road runner emblems and stickers but like I said I will have to check but all I have is yours. I have a correct intake with carb and valve covers as well as the drive shaft, rear bumper and shifter. Most of the time I owned it I kept it in the garage and you can see the photo of me bringing it into the light for the first time in 25 years but even prior to that I removed all the window trim to prevent rusting which is why there is only a small spot at the passenger corner of the back window. I knew that I would have this car a long time and used por 15 to preserve spots where there was surface rust or in areas known to rust. I did this in the 80's and it honestly looks like it did the day I bought it as most did at that time. This is like a barn find and is almost a time capsule of the day. This car is not a rot box like most of what I see on here and for the east coast this is as close to pristine as I think you will find. It never has had a second paint job and only some old time back yard primering from the 70's I think lol. The parts have never been off of it such as the exterior sheet metal. The floors and frame were pristine and most of the sheet metal is salvageable except for the lower quarter panels, extensions and the center of the trunk. It still looks like a trunk but has perforations above the gas tank area (they rusted both from the top and bottom). Most of the left side of the quarter panel is done and the left outer wheel house is done. These parts were butt welded and stich seemed and once completed will be mostly undetectable (only a sliver has been replaced about 1-2 inches of the wheel well). It comes with a galvaneal panel for patching the right side as well. Any dings are minor and will not require replacement and if you look at the last photo of it wet you will see that except for the minor repairs it is extremely straight. I have a boat load more photos but e-bay wont let me do more than this. If you need a photo of a specific area or have any questions please ask. If you wanted to you can replace quarters, trunk and extensions and they have full panel parts now but I think that is unecessary on this car. The car will need a full restoration, new bumpers and the engine will need to come apart to be freshened up. The car comes with extra parts as I indicated and the trunk is full of stainless trim from this and about a dozen other mopar B bodys I have owned including chargers and coronets. The original seats are gone but I have lots of the original parts including a rear seat and it still has the original carpet along with extra parts for the console. I have the original shifter and although I never checked I was told by the old owner it was the 18 spline hemi trans but as I said not sure about that as I never had it out. I had intentions of putting in a crate hemi and resto-modding the car but I don't have the time and since I was married to the She Devil from Staten Island (ever see the show Jersey Shore? Snooki?) I wanted to live a bit in the present since she killed me inside, tried to kill me outside and I bought a Challenger SRT8 ( should have done that instead of marrying her) so this needs to go before I change my mind and drag it around another 30 years or so until I am dead and someone junks it. I kept it and loved it and dreamt of it for nearly 30 years so please restore it as it deserved it and by the way she likes the songs by ZZ top the best. Reserve will be set for what they normally go for in worse condition ( I have seen junk go for much more on here) and yes I dragged it around like a noose on my neck for nearly 30 years so of course I will forever if I have to and you can get it in the estate sale in 20 more years or buy it now (they arent going to make them again) and restore it and make me envious and yet happy it went to someone who would take care of it and do it right. On Nov-26-12 at 18:46:28 PST, seller added the following information: Ok looks like someone is going to be the new owner and yes tears in my eyes. Ok the deal is sorry its not the 18 spline trans but good news is I got my fat ass under there (lost over 40 pounds not to mention the 175 pounds of useless fat when I divorced her but it's still hard to crawl under there lol.) and it is matching numbers!!!!!!! engine and trans matches data tag and vin# but I can't speak for Dana rear or if it came from dealer with it. data tag 24125 219637 087 054 674 C16 EB5 EB5 P6XA TX9 414 282818 E63 D21 RM21 MOA 220204 220204 on engine, trans, tag and vin, radiator support and trunk lip = numbers matching also has a larger 3 stamped on tag but that was probably Ralph who stamped the tags god and Glover only know lol. On Dec-01-12 at 09:47:59 PST, seller added the following information: I am sorry but I had to cancel a bidder due to non-contact. I take this auction seriously and if you have zero feedback or transactions or don't have a pay-pal account you must contact me to bid. It is not fair to me or the other bidders to drag the auction out or drive the price wild if you are not serious enough to contact me or respond. You can contact me through ebay if you have a question or want additional photos. Bidders can give email and request all photos or specific photos as they are prefered. I will try to get a few photos to anyone requesting. I am also including all parts in this auction now including used slicks, extra side windows with wing vents, and other items I even believe I have another set of bare blasted 906 castings. I am also including some stuffed characters and other items I find. I feel these were bought with the car in mind and will go with it. This will be all spare parts I have for the car. I have had questions about title: Yes the title is clear and will be given to the winner, I have the quarter panel for the passenger side and it comes with it, I have the correct exhaust manifolds and yes included, I have driveshaft and rear seat but will need to be recovered, I do not have build sheet or front seats and only have the back plastic panel to one, seat belts are in it, pistol grip is included and the correct one for a console car, deposit was lowered to 1000.00, I have correct valve covers and dual snorkle air cleaner(lid not included), engine ran when parked but has had parts removed (was going to put a hemi in it) and was exposed open in an enclosed garage and has dust in it and needs to be taken apart and cleaned before putting back together. I will assist your shipping company from my end such as keeping the appointment and making sure there is a photo of it loaded for your safety. If you plan on bidding, deposit of 1000.00 through paypal and the rest either in check or money order paid to me and cleared before shipping or C.O.D. if you plan on picking it up yourself. Again I am sorry to bidders I had to block and reject but if you have no history you must contact me first. Thank you John Pappas
