Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1954 Chevy 5 window pickup, runs and drives and stops! Inline 6 cylinder starts well with a press of the foot starter, runs evenly, has great oil pressure. Transmission shifts through all the gears, goes into reverse, transmission and clutch are good. Mechanically the truck is in good shape for the year. It is a running and driving and stopping truck. We have found that in the restoration of a vehicle that if the drive train is operable and the engine is running and the clutch and transmission are working, that the restoration just goes that much more quickly because you know exactly what you have; you are buying a vehicle that runs and drives. Here is a video of the truck at idle and with the engine being revved: http://youtu.be/xnc4NSlQ4Uw Here is another video we made of the truck being driven going forward in all 3 forward gears and going in reverse: http://youtu.be/DpRlu7DN924Gauges work-temperature, oil pressure, speedometer, odometer, amp gauge. Gas tank gauge is not working. Radiator was recently replaced with one that had been rebuilt and pressure tested/starter was also replaced. So that when you step on the foot starter, it starts right away. The truck is being sold "TMU", or True Mileage Unknown. This is a North Carolina truck, with a front license plate that says "SPEED" Fire Department of North Carolina, ironically enough! No hit body, doors close well, door gaps are even, hood closes evenly. Grill fits well to body. This truck has not been in a collision. Everything fits very well! Also has the factory spare tire carrier mounted to the bed as well as the correct fender to fit the spare tire. Truck needs restoration-please see pictures carefully. Will need the usual places repaired/fixed, i.e., cab corners, lower front of cab, and front floor area of cab. All replacement panels are available from LMC truck and Classic Parts plus many others. This is a truck which is very easy to find parts for. Many parts are reproduced and they are simple trucks to work on. There are no circuit boards or computers! Just straight wiring! We recently restored an early Chevy Pickup and took it to Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas this past September and sold it there. It did very well. We saw that the early Chevy Pickups, especially between 1947 to 1954 have a great following and are bringing record high prices. Please take a look at the "Results" page of the Barrett Jackson website to verify for yourself. We see nicely restored examples bringing in the $25k to $40K for one that is nicely optioned (with visor and spotlights). This is the 5 window, half ton short bed truck which is the one that everyone wants. It will make a beautiful truck restored. You are more than welcome to come and see the truck and test drive it and inspect it. We are a licensed and bonded and insured auto dealer (T.J. Auto, Inc., 1312 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27603) in North Carolina. We have an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau. A clear North Carolina title to the truck is here on hand. Everything is in order on our end. If you have any questions, please call Tom Nelson @ 919-522-4412.
